  • Please prey for my daughter

We took my daughter to the ER Wednesday night after she spilled some boiling soup on her hand, arm, stomach, and chest, that had been sitting on the counter. She was admitted that night and the next morning was taken in to surgery. Her doctor used a temporary material called Biobrane that will help heal the burn sight. It is about 8 percent of her body. We were finally sent home tonite and she is asleep right now.

My biggest worry is that she will develop scar tissue. I mean it's on her tummy, what if she develops scar tissue and then can't have babies when she's older. I don't know what to do, I am so desperate. I beg all of you who are reading this to pray for my little girl. She is such a trooper and is not even complaining about the pain, but it must be tremendous. Please keep her in your daily prayers and I'll try to keep all of you posted on her progress.

    Thank you
    Yoly V.

man thats terrible! I have had a steam burn before which was very tiny but man it hurt! Im assuming boiling soup would be similar. Shes strong if shes not complaining about pain! I will light a candle for your little girl. Kids are strong and im sure she will pull through this!! I dont think she will have any problems having kids. Maybe this is something you should discuss with her doctor? The technology that they have today though is awesome, and they are improving on this as we speak. New things are coming out and I am sure she will have minimal scarring from this. :hug

thank you so much, it is so scary, but it is nice to know that I have a place to turn to. I have to be the strong one throughout this whole ordeal. My daughter is in pain, my husband is blaming himself, our entire extended family is in shock and grieving, and I am the only one holding everyone else up. I am so tired.

Thank you for all your well wishes, I started crying just reading your encouraging words

You will get through this There is no use in blaming anyone for this. Tell your hubby that. Whats done is done, and altho things are bad, they could have been worse right? Your little girl will pull through this, and will be stronger because of it. I know its tough but stay in there. Everything will come together.

my neice savannah dumped a cup of boiling tea all over herself when she was about 2, scared the heck out of all of us. She's now 12 and any scarring is unnoticable. I pray your daughter's outcome is the same as my neice's. Here's a huge :hug :hug as I know this is a tough time for you. She sounds like she's quite the kid!

I'm so sorry that you're all going through this now. Kids are amazing, though, and everything will turn out well, I'm sure. Many years ago, my daughter was severely injured in a car accident. I remember well the feelings of helplessness that I felt and the fear and sadness. However, I was amazed at the quick recovery that she made! I kept thinking that surely she would be in more pain and need more time for recovery, but that kid bounced back so fast! She has some scars, but she doesn't care. In fact, she likes to show them to people to "freak them out"! LOL!

I'm praying that your situation will have a good outcome!
