TRIPLE DIGIT LOSERS CENTURY CLUB EXERCISE CHALLENGE

This challenge is for all folks who have 100+ pounds to lose, are in the process of losing 100+ pounds or have lost 100+ pounds. There are no charts no measurements only your made goal or you didn't and what you are going to do next week There is a thinking extra credit question too which is optional.
We have very different obstacles to overcome in dealing with exercises, equipment and how our bodies respond to new exercise programs then the lightweight losers do. You can be in this challenge and all the other challenges on the exercise board too. This is an open enrollment, weekly commitment to your exercise goals based on your ability. Use the thread to post your questions, concerns, cheers and even your failures. If you see someone out on the board who would qualify for our challenge invite them to do so. We will have a new topic each month so the poor server doesn't have a coronary loading all the CC members who are going to join this challenge TDL weekly reports for 12 months just so each of us can read what our fellow TDL members have posted in this coming DEC. Hopefully the mods will archive it for us so you can look back and see where you were and how far you have come.

I know from running one of these on other boards we have had quite a few alien abductions so don't laugh about that part. After all now CC member would willingly stop doing the exercise part of their Atkins program right )

    The pledge:
I, ______________(Please use your screen name here so folks can see who has posted and how needs a nudge) promise unless injured or abducted by aliens to do the workout I have committed to do this week and report my results faithfully the following Monday.

    WEEK 1
    take setbacks in stride
… Learn from your mistakes and keeping looking toward the future.

    Goals
Make goals for what you will accomplish this week. Be realistic, make them attainable. Challenge yourself, but don’t set yourself up for failure by promising more than you know you can do. When I started out I was doing 2MPH for 20 minutes and thought I was Rocky on top of those steps. Now I'm in much better shape and can do much more much faster so if I posted I was doing that now I hope y'all would kick my butt for being an exercise slug.

    Extra Credit
    This week's question:

What's your biggest fear when it comes to exercise? How realistic is this fear?

Okay I triple dawg Dare y'all to join!

      Sorry, I'm confused.

Do we post our pledges to this thread? And our answers for extra credit?

Say... ensive what's the reward for the extra credit?

I'm serious about the confused part, though.

      Sorry!!

I thought the directions were pretty clear oh well on Monday everybody who has already joined posts if they made their last wek's exercise goals or not and what thier goals for this week will be. If they want to they can post the extra credit stuff as a means to help you be thinking about ways to stay morivated with your exercise.

The new to the challenge folk post their pledge, and their goals for the coming week they too can do the extra credit if they want or not.

        So Monday post away.

So far so good. Kept up my exercise committment, and no aliens.

Extra credit, 3 things I like about exercise:

            1. How good I feel all day long if I exercise in the morning

            2. Increased flexibility and less aches, especially in my knee, which has been bugging me.

            3. Confidence boosting. I feel more confident, and---dare I say it?---thinner, when I exercise.

My exercise is going awesome! I do admit that there are days when I don't really feel like it but once I get up and go...it feels sooo good!

I have upped my intensity on most activites that I use to get my exercise in and that has helped me to bust through a plateau. I have added the eliptical machine at the YMCA to my routine and this really makes me feel good! I am also doing longer and longer bursts on running while on my walks. (However, I have a long way to go before I can actully run for any period of time or length! :no ) Also, I am still lifting my weights 3X per week.

As far as the benefits that I receive from exercise besides the weight loss, it would have to be the following:

              1. It gives me a time each day alone to focus and/or think through the issues of the day.

              2. It helps me to control my emotions and clear my mind. ( I am sure this is due to the fact exercise helps get hormones under control!)

              3. A good sweat just makes you feel good!

              Blessings, :wave

I will commit to doing at least 20 minutes of exercise each and every day.

I fear most about exercise: that I'll be too tired afterward to do anything (which is irrational because...)

I like the best about exercise how much energy it gives me for the rest of the day!

PS: Hey, isthinpossible, i'm sending you a message, if I can figure it out!

                      glad you made it ONLY4D

welcome to all our new memebers. you can use the topic to post to eachother about exercie or encorage each other or even for butt kicking if you need one to get moving. We take the alien abduction seriously as I know you would never on your own stop doing the exercise part of your Atkins.

                      Happy low carbing to you.

I, brabea22, promise unless injured or abducted by aliens to do the workout I have committed to do this week and report my results faithfully the following Monday.

I will exercise for 30 minutes 4 times this week and for 35 minutes three times this week.

                        Extra Credit:

                        1. What's your biggest fear when it comes to exercise? How realistic is this fear?

I guess my biggest fear is that I will injure myself to the point that I no longer am able to exercise. I doubt that it is very realistic and it is getting less so everyday. I get lighter and more healthier everyday, and I find my knee responding to the weight coming off of it.

                        2. Name 3 things you like about exercising.

Well I have to say the first thing is the feeling of accomplishment I feel when I exercise. After I finally catch my breath, I really feel like I am on top of the world. The second thing I like about exercising is that I can see differences in myself physiologically. For example, in the last month my average resting pulse has moved from 98-102 to 80-84. Finally, the last thing is sort of silly but I like exercising because then I can go in and tell my wife that I drank all my water and did all my exercise and I get a reward smooch.
