I already didin't make my goal for the week -- at least 20 min everyday. I did exercise 4 days, about 45 min each day, so if you average the minutes, does that count???

Just kidding. I didn't exercise all the days.

I find that when I exercise well one day, my mind keeps convinceing me the next day "You were so GOOD yesterday! You can take a day off, and do it again tomorrow." Now that I recognize that thought pattern is a habit with me, I'm going to try to guard against it better.

For this next week, I reiterate my goal to exercise at least 20 min. every single day.

Ok, I am stepping up and joining! Hope I can join mid month. Its about time though, as I have been on Atkins forever.

          The pledge:
I, __nikki_e__ promise unless injured or abducted by aliens to do the workout I have committed to do this week and report my results faithfully the following Monday.

          Goal:
I will exercise for a minimum of 30 minutes, 5 days this week. For variety, I will do each of the following at least once: brisk walk, Curves, or exercise video.

          Extra Credit:
Right now I am into WATP Walk and Jog and George Foreman's Walk and Box video. They are probably my favorite right now because they are just new and they are the first videos I can do from start to finish without taking a break or just plain giving up half way through.

I made my goal this week in spite of a slightly pulled hamstring! I plan on continuing with at least 45 minutes of aerobic exercise as well as lifting 3x this week!

What exercise do I like best? Well...let's see, hmmm! ensive I am beginnning to love it all! But the eliptical (sp?) machine gives me the "best sweating" work-out of all.

              Happy exercising!

I made it. Worked out 5 times this week

Mon - Walked for 35 minutes (2 of that was a jog...have to start small)
Tues - Walk Away the Pounds: Walk and Jog DVD
Fri - Walked for 30 minutes
Sat - Curves - twice around the circut, 30 minutes
Sun - George Foreman Walk and Box DVD

This week I am changing my goal a bit. I want to do curves 3 days and two other days of walking or DVD's.

I didn't make my goal either

I decided to take a little time off and ended up sitting on my big toosh for two of my 30 minute days.

Back with a vengence this week though.

                        Going for 6 - 35 mins and 1 - 30 min.

I'm new here, so this is only my third or fourth post to the board, but exercise is where I'm having the hardest time so I thought I'd join you guys if that's okay. I make excuses for not exercising because I don't like to exercise, mainly I think because I get bored. I have found I like the treadmill because I can read while I do that. I've had a membership to the YMCA for about 6-8 months now and don't think I've been more than about 15 times. When I restarted Atkins May 2, I was really sick with a sinus infection and a kidney infection. But on Monday of this week I started going to the Y again. I'm walking 30 minutes at 3 mph with an incline of 3-4. My pledge is to exercise at least 30 minutes M-F.

I'm a little late posting but I've been busy working on converting my son's old room into my new craft room.

Lots of bending and reaching as I sanded and washed walls this week, Mon, Tue, Wed.

Rest of week will be more of the same. My goal is still active life and walking. I'm happy with my activity level.

I just wanted you all to know that I would not have gone to exercise yesterday had I not committed to it on this board. I left work and had errands to run and was expecting teenagers at my house to swim in the pool and had to get home before they got there (can't leave 15 and 16 year-olds at home alone!). I told you all yesterday that I keep making excuses for why I "can't" exercise.

When I got off I10 yesterday after work, I could turn right to go home or left to go to the YMCA. I couldn't decide which way to turn. Then I thought about having to admit that I didn't meet my goal - and that I didn't meet it the FIRST day I pledged - and that a pledge is a promise and I don't break promises - and well...I exercised. Not just walking on the treadmill either. I had been to the coach-approach thingie at the Y in January and they help you make an exercise plan. Well, after I made the plan, I never went back. SO yesterday I got out my card with the plan on it, did all the exercises on it and actually increased some of the weights because I'm in a little better shape now than I was in January and some of them were too easy. So...I just wanted to say how glad I am that I found this board and that I found this challenge. Otherwise, I'd probably be making an exercise excuse again today. Instead, I was almost late for work because I got in the car to leave this morning and realized I'd left my shorts and shoes in the house. Normally, I would say, "Well, I'm running late already, and since I can't wear jeans or sandals to the Y, I just won't get to exercise today". Instead, I ran back in, got my things and rushed off to work. I know it might not seem like much, but I'm very proud of myself. Especially since both yesterday and this morning when I've weighed, I've been 1 lb lighter each day!
