Last Friday I was called because my 90 year old Grandma who has alzheimers was having seizures. She was transported to a local hospital by ambulance. There is a DNR on file at the hospital but I did not have one in her home so the ambulance driver was kind enough not to totally restart her but enough to sustain life. Now Grandma is on the verge of a coma. The hospital allowed her to have seizures for 6 1/2 hours before they gave her medication to stop them. I spent Friday,Saturday and until 4PM Sunday beside her as she slid back and forth between her two worlds. Today we contacted in hospital hospice who wants her to go home but she is still having seizures on occasion. I have never seen a heart rate at 299 but that is what hers was doing. I guess what I really am asking is that you all pray for my Grandma to pass in her sleep and not make her come back home where there will be no way to stop the seizures that are quite violent. Today I purchased her funeral dress. I know that there is a reason why she is still here but I don't want to see her suffer any more. Her two husbands and all four children preceded her in death. Yet I feel Grandma is fighting her on closure due to her mind making her think she is in her 40s and her children need her.
