I was the singing voice of Folger's coffee back in the 70's. Anyone old enough to remember Folger's "It's Your Son's Wedding Day"? Yup - that was me!

And once I was provided the winning lottery numbers (daily, not big jackpot) but I forgot to play them until the next day and they were the day before's numbers. (If i had played it would've been about $8000)

But I mostly look at psychics as frauds or charlatans.

          Such a conundrum.
That sort of thing happens to me all the time. I'll be thinking of people I haven't talked to in a long time, then suddenly they'll pop up. There are a few people that I have a close emotional connection to, and at times I can sense their feelings...even if they are thousands of miles away. My gut will tell me to do something....and if I don't listen, I usually regret it...

Oh...my thing that noone knows. Well, noone here knows that I was a drum majorette in high school...or that I used to have fuschia hair...

Now, wait a minute Cleo and Fancy...you two are DEFINITELY not old enough to remember that one. Those that are old enough probably have heard me on several commercials, mostly regional advertisements (Midwest and Rocky Mountain areas) and a few nationals (Folgers, Charmin, Ford) and, if you lived in the St. Louis area, you saw me doing Schnucks commercials on-air. I've also done some back-up studio work for a few recording artists. But most people remember the Folger's "Wedding Day" commercial best for some reason.

Thank you. It started out as a way to earn $ while being the Mom of an infant/toddler. Worked into bigger things. Wish I hadn't moved away from the "big city" and their recording studios. Sure was a better (and more fun!) way to earn a living than sitting behind a desk!

Back in 1973, my husband,(an Oklahoma Highway Patrolman) was shot in the stomach with a 357, during a robbery.

I am so lucky that my dear Eldon lived and recovered completely. He still carries the bullet pieces inside his body. It was to close to his heart to be removed.

Now you are wondering how he could be shot in the stomach and the bullet be lodged in his chest. He was knocked out and the guy shot him while he was down. So he had his spleen removed, some intestines removed, his kidney repaired, his lung collapsed and the bullet was in pieces(hollow point load). So you see he is one lucky man to be alive. The bullet enterd his body thru his gun belt/pants belt/bullet holder, so it went thru more than an inch of leather. This leather held the bullet together. God just had more plans for him, here on earth. My opinion.

We are blessed that he recovered. He did lose weight during this, but he doesn't recommend it to anyone, HA. In 10 days he went from 230 to 175. It took a good year for him to be healthy again.

                    This is fascinating...

I was held hostage in our local drugstore by an employee waving a gun. I was a regular customer (worked down the street) and was getting an orangeade at the soda counter when I heard a gunshot. Naturally, we all ducked. Leroy had been fired earlier in the day for cruising around town instead of making prescription deliveries and he came back to kill the pharmacist who fired him. First, he went to one store branch but couldn't find his man, so he shot the manager there (survived) and drove across town to the other store to find the pharmacist. He found him at the other store and killed the pharmacist, wounded another ***'t manager, and made the rest of us go into the secured storeroom (employees and customers). We could hear more gunshots. Finally, the police arrived and there was a standoff. Finally, the SWAT team burst in (judging from all the noise) and lead us safely and hurriedly out the door. Meanwhile, Leroy locked himself in the bathroom and shot himself in the mouth.

I really liked Leroy, too - he just snapped, I guess.

I was born blue with a hole in my heart. Parents were told I would not live to walk. Had surgery when I was 6 to repair it. I was told never to gain weight or to ever become pregnant mt heart would not take it. BTW I have given birth to 4 children.

I was at Barbie's 30th (I think, we're both a lot older now!) birthday party at Tavern on the Green in NYC. (I had to cover it for my job -- Barbie and I were never really very close!).

wow, so many things I can relate to! LOL!

I have had a few "premonitions" come true.

I met my hubby via a "dating" club after rejecting his original write up & pictures and choosing his new one (it had no photos).

I was supposed to be visiting my brother's psych one day but rescheduled due to my work schedule and the original day I was supposed to be in there, one of his patients came in and shot and killed him and shot several of the other folks in the office.

I worked with a guy who snapped and came to work and shot his wife before disappearing into the wilderness. Was supposed to be on a trip to a supplier (he was engineering and I was in purchasing) that week.

I'm the oldest of 5 kids but only 3 of us survived to adulthood.

have a lot of funny/odd connections to my kids (such as 1 daughter and I are the same chinese zodiac while the other daughter & hubby are the same...eldest and I have the same numbers in our birth year, just a different order, and she and her father have reversed birth month/date 3/8 and 8/3...met hubby on a date with numbers opposite of my birth month/date I'm 10/21 met him 01/12....)

My MIL gave me 2 pottery vases that she got as wedding gifts (50 years ago) and had packed away that exactly matched two pots I had bought over 20 years ago on a trip out west.

Love all the odd/wierd coincidences in life.

Me and both my sisters weren't supposed to be born. My mom was told for years that she'd never have children and she believed them.. she got into a car accident and miscarried my oldest sister's twin. The doctors wanted to scrape her uterus (for whatever reason) but her OB/GYN doc wouldn't let them for whatever reason.. 7 months later my sister was born. 18 months after that my middle sister was born and 16 months after that I was born.

My children are born 17 months apart.. to the day. He is October 4th and she is March 4th.

I was born a gray baby, the umbilical cord was wrapped around my neck and they cut my mom twice without pain killers and yanked me out. I was sent to the "sick" baby nursery and all the nurses took turns holding me because I wasn't as bad off as the others.

I had a bilateral uretal reimplantation surgery when I was 3 and got into trouble for jumping on the hopsital bed two days after surgery.
