I plan a menu a week a head of time. I also try to keep bad foods out of my house. My dh is very supportive also. He will let me know what is right and what isn't. I love him for that.
    make it a lovely day!!

I always plan mentally and ahead of time for eating triggers.

If I know that a previous food-frenzy trigger in the past was hubby going out of town for work, then I have to be prepared for that.

I say to myself, "Self (I'm a paragon of creativity), instead of comforting ourself with food, we are going to make a topiary!" So I'll get the craft items together and be prepared and actually looking forward to having that project.

Or I'll buy a new decorating magazine and put it away until he goes and read that while he's away.

In this way I am deriving pleasure from things which are not small and chocolatey in nature.
