22 years married to a Frenchman. Guess I'm local now - even made it official and I now have both nationalities.
I love Paris but now two of my three children are Stateside in university so I miss them more than I miss living in the States myself.
I'm heading back for three weeks this saturday. Lucky me :smileangel

New German Low Carb Website
Hi all,
I am a German living in Colorado and started Atkins 6 months ago. I loved it, but when I told my mom in Germany about it, I realized that there isn't much information about it available in the german part of the Internet. So I decided to come up with a site myself
The premium domain lowcarbfun.de is for sale on fruits.co. Secure the domain now and start your online success story. Safe payment and quick transfer are guaranteed.
So let us know what you think, we are very open to suggestions and feedback.

I'll be in Germany next month (Frankfurt, Baden-Baden, Berlin, Hannover, along the Romantic Road)
What should I try while I'm there? I'm in maintenance and I don't mind trying a few sweets, either.

Hi Striving,
have you tried "Quark" yet? This is something between Sour Cream and Cream cheese and you can use it in a lot of lc recipes. You can make it a sweet treat with some lc fruits or a salty one with green onions, salt, pepper and herbs (great on lc bread). You can bake with it, too - cheesecake, for instance ;-)
I am trying to think what else is "typical German"...

I live in Rostock (I'm American, hubby is German) and new to Atkins. :wave
Ok, so I am posting this question here hoping to get some answers but I am not too sure if I will... here it goes:
I am desperately looking for a good carb counter that has german foods and isn't too big to carry around. I have the book "kalorien mundgerecht" and it has an ok carb count on a ton of foods but not the greatest. I really hate German food labels... the majority don't tell you anything. Any suggestions?Start Date: 5/3/04

Hi Rehmmasr,
not of the top of my head, but I will post your question in my german forum, I'm sure somebody will recommend one.
Actually, just writing I thought of one - you can get the Atkins Diet Revolution book in German, that should have a carb counter in there.
I'll let you know when I learn more from my group.
Cheers,

Hey Franziska,
Thanks a lot. I took a look at your site and it's great. Unfortunately I am not that great in writing in German so I probably won't post there. I am too chicken. :geek You have a lot of useful info. Thanks again for your help :waveStart Date: 5/3/04

New to Germany!
Hello everyone!
I just moved to Wiesloch (Heidelberg area) and I am having a hard time finding Lo-Carb stuffs. If anyone has information on where to find stuff, please post. Lo-carb pasta, bread and Atkins bars are what I am looking for the most. Its nice to see people in other countries enjoying Atkins as well. Good Luck to everyone!
