    re: UK 2009

I think most mayo's over here have sugar in the ingredients but many of us use them without any problems. you might find other brands with less carbs per 100 gram if you read labels.

Same for philadelphia cream cheese - I buy Waitrose own brand 'soft creamy cheese' which has half the carbs of philly!

Not sure about the turkey rashers but maybe if you can list the ingredients we can help you decide.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Check out our Low Carb Recipes website and add to it!!

      Hi,

I found a great sugar free mayonnaise from a company called "pollen Organics", I bought some when visiting my friends in Hampshire, I must admit I don't remember seeing it any supermarkets or health food shops but it is definately available and is yummy

      Ciao xx

Sugar free mayo yay! I've been using Hellmans and always felt guilty it contained a bit of sugar. I googled the name and found a company that stocks "Pollen Organics" mayo. It's £2.49 for a 300g jar. Delivery is £2.95 or free if order is over £13.95. They have some really nice stuff including gluten, wheat and sugar free items. I might order a few herbs to go along with my mayo. The Organic Delivery Company. Local organic food delivery to you. London, UK.

        Thanks DebbieW

            Re: Uk 2009

Hi everyone, i'm hoping someone can give me some hope or something to cling on to as i'm about to give up on the Atkins WOE.
            I have stuck rigid...and I mean rigid...for the last 5 weeks. Wk one - lost 5lb, wk 2 - lost 2lb. wk 3 - no loss, wk 4 - no loss, wk 5 - 1lb gain !!!!
According to DANDR, I have a low resistance so can't understand what is happening.
I only have 14lb to go before I hit goal so introduced more acceptable veg in wk three. As there was no loss, I stuck to that in wk 4. I don't like nuts so three times in wk 5, I had blackberries with cream...that week I put a pound on. I'm absolutely gutted.

I don't know where to go from here.My measurements haven't changed in the last three weeks either.
            Any advice would be appreciated.

                      Well done emmie

This whole Carbs thing in the UK threw me completely but now I just look at the carb grams & ignore the fibre bit. Seems to be working ok, though i am not sure because fitday is an american thing I am wondering if they deduct the fibre that has already been deducted on our labels??? I think it might be different for the Uk folks....mmmmmm I will ask on the board somewhere.

                        Re: Uk 2009

Hiya, I have a few questions for my fellow Brits hope someone can answer.

Flax seed, I have to go to Holland & Barrett to restock on my vitamins and need someone to point me in the right direction on what to buy. I was going to experiment with it when cooking.

Stews, I've been quite ill with 2 bad colds in 4 weeks and made a wicked lamb stew to feel better. Before Atkins I'd put in some granules to thicken it up but seeing as that's not allowed what else can you suggest? I heard stock cubes were ok but looking at the ingredients on the packet it lists a lot of things that isn't allowed on Induction.

Last of all does anyone know of a good online butcher? As I'm agoraphobic I don't get out much and certainly can't travel to the market. I'm dying for some oxtail my mouth is watering just thinking about it!

                        Cheers

                            Hiya!

I tried googling online butchers already and some of them looked dodgy or were way to expensive. Oh well.

In regards to vitamins I take:

                            Vitamin B12 (1) a day
                            L-Glutamine (1) a day
ABC Plus Senior Multi-Vitamin (Without Iron) (1) a day
Evening Primrose Oil (2) a day
                            Vitamin B -100 B-Complex (1) a day
Flaxseed Oil (Linseed Oil) (2) a day.

I went to this forum Vita Nutrient Solution/Supplements - Atkins Diet and read the stickies to determine what vitamins I needed to start out on. Then I got some advice from biogeek who's a mod and knows just about everything there is to know about vitamins.

I really advise you to read the stickies, I have a new found respect for vitamins and what they can do.

I purchased my ketosis sticks online here Save on Ketur Test Reagent Strips - UK Next Day Delivery they were only £3.85 and I find them reliable. I even got my OH to test one to make sure he wasn't in ketosis and they weren't faulty. I have a free delivery code if you're interested. I'm sure you can get them from your local chemists if you ask.

                            Goodluck to you!
