  • Scared to start again!!

I am so scared to start again... I fell off the wagon and broke every bone in my body. I have gained back 2 pounds of the weight I lost and am soooooo adicted to carbs at the moment that I would turn my self inside out for a hit.

It has been about 3 or 4 months and I desperately want to come back to the fold buuuuut...induction flu is terrifying me... I had such a hard time with it first time round that the thought of it gives me the heebies.

I ached so bad and cried and was depressed and soooooo very angry. On the upside I felt great when it was over ... but brrrrrr when I was going through it... I just don't know if I can inflict it on my family again.

Some support for this would be great.... I definitely need solid help... I know that it is worth it but I am just gun shy of the initial pain.... *sniff* oh I hate being me right now! :sadblinky

Take 2,000 mg of L-Glutamine. It really curves the carb cravings, especially for sweets :nod It saved my big behind!

well if you can't suck it up you can do it the way Mrs Atkins talked about on Larry King in Jan 2004 and that is to back in to it.

Start by reducing your bad for you carb foods and eat OWL rung 9 with as few of your bad high carb foods as you can get a way with. then give some of them up each week until you are back down to your CCLL which you know from the last time you were an Atkins success. you will not get the Induction rapid weight loss and detox but you will get yourself start4ed back on a healthier WOE and become the healthier smaller person you want to be.

          Happy low carbing.

            Yeah, what 2big said.
And remember, take baby steps here. What about exercise. It was the hardest thing for me and now I do it 3 times a week, pushing for 4 as soon I start a water arobics class. You don't have to do everything, just do something.
Also, the flu may not be as bad this time. What about the rest of you. I don't think I even had the flu the second time around?

Hey Tish... a kg is still ok, you know? I can't even count how many times I've fallen off the wagon and fallen off so hard I was so disorientated for days afterwards!!! I even had to write a reminder to myself in my journal of how awful I feel after after falling off the wagon, just so that I can read it again in the future to see if it would stop me next time. Listen to EVERYONE here who's given advice so far - it's really good advice, and you will feel crap with induction flu, but it's only for a little bit of time and if you can ride it out, it'll be ok. Tish, you've go soooooo much support here :hug (just don't listen to the advice that will make you feel worse ) but we're all here to help you through the roughest times :hug

Hee heeee I can always count on 2big to kick my complaining butt into gear... it has been 2 days and I just keep forgetting that I can't have milk!! I am usually just finishing the cup when I remember "doh...can't have that!"

Still, I have to say I havn't had too much trouble apart from minor cravings around the 4 oclock in the afternoon mark. All in all not tooooo ugly... in fact I feel clearer in the head already.

Exercise... not a prob... I find that as you feel the low carb life kick in, you have more energy anyway...

Thanks for your support, I really believe that coming onto the board everyday is a key to success...

Oh and 2big... I can suck it up ... I can do this thing right ..mmmwa to everyone for their supportive advice...and a biiiiig wooo hoo for a fellow Aussie member Yay...go us!

Keep up the good work!!!!!!!! And pour the rest of the milk down the drain, unless you have kids who need it, like I do! So far, I haven't forgotten to use cream instead, though!
