Brook... Greetings. I am so happy you are here, you were very vocal on the boards the LAST time I was on Atkins, and such an inspiration. YOur before and after pix convinced my mom that this was an okay thing to be doing, one naysayer down, a million to go...

I am So Sorry to hear about your family. I will be happy to keep you and the kids in my prayers. Going from homeschool to regular is amounting to a huge transition for us,,, hope it is easier for you. SOunds like you have it all together, and a good plan. SO GLAD you are here with us!!!!!

    Blessings..

I have been thinking about her for a while now. I still remember her phots on that white sweater. She did say she was moving on to somehting else. But, I saw Brook pop back in, so maybe Debby will, too.

Welcome back, Brook! I know you've been lurking and posting, and wasn't sure why - now I know!

You have such a great attitude and determination, and it's obvious that you are already contributing SO much to our gang!

Except I need to talk to you about Bill. We took a vote and although it was defeated, we STILL think that all STAC-ked members should have a pink tutu. He refuses. This means we have had to cancel our performance of Swan Lake in September. We're hoping maybe you could work on him, so that we could at least try out for The Nutcracker come December.....would you try?

Boy when ya fall off the wagon you do that 100% too!

Hmmm....so can I treat ya like a newbie?
Don't forget 3 cups of veggies a day!

I'm serious when I said in another post: you should write a book.
Not an "Atkins" book...a "Brook" book...about whatever you want.

Brook has always been my inspriration. Although I really was sad that I missed the floss thong she said she would wear when she hit goal.

Thanks for returning home. We need some of Brooks common sense around here.

Re: So here I am -My story & why I'm here again!

              Y'all are a riot!

Bill, would you feel better with a blue tutu?

ROFL Iap- Yep. I do nothing half assed, for sure. I'm just glad I got my wits about me at 10lbs instead of 20 or more - but now that life is settling down and my schedule is somewhat workable - getting those workouts in regularly is so much more doable. - Like today, for example - I have a doctor appointment at 11am, my kid has a dentist appointment at 12:30 and I have to work from 3pm- to 8am. I'm surprised I don't run into myself coming and going. heh heh. As we wade our way through all the new changes, the rest will come. You know me, I'd rather exercise my butt off and eat well that cut calories - it just seems that that's not going to work so well at this stage in my life - cuz I just don't have the time to exercise my butt off. LOL Gahhhh!! 3 cups of veggies? Like heck!! I'm a solid 5-6 cup a day girl ..and I can do that and still stay under 20, so hehe (((Hugs)))

Kimberly- Thank you. The transition from homeschool to public school this fall will be a pretty big one- but honestly? I think it'll be a big transition for me and not so much for Roo. Both the oldest and youngest have been in public school for the last 2 years- I kept the middle one at home because she positively thrived with homeschooling and I was in a position to do it. Now? That's just not our reality. She's really excited, and while I alternate feeling kicked in the teeth and being just as excited as she is, I know that this presents another opportunity for me. I'm checking into getting myself in school - Thank you!

sidrah- I haven't seen Debby in ages and ages. The last I saw of her she was hanging out at ABTB and I'm not sure if she ever made the transition over to AATW or not. I miss her too and hope that all is well with her. She was truly an amazing person and example.

I did see Amenia hiding around here though and that made me smile!

Desertthorn- LOL LOL Ahh yes. Well, I didn't wear the buttfloss & visor to the grocery store, but I *did* wear it to the beach. heh heh heh Thank you, my friend. I've missed you all too!

As for my family- thank you. But you know, not all changes are bad. This has actually been a pretty positive thing all the way around for us - well, for the most part, anyway. I'll love that man until the day I die, and who knows what the future holds? We're not headed for divorce court any time real soon. I'm wouldn't say I'm hopeful that all will work out, but I'm not hopeless either. When I close my eyes and picture my future, I still see him sitting next to me on that old porch swing drinking fresh squeezed lemonade and watching the grandchildren terrorize. We shall see! Thanks for understanding and the support. I appreciate it more than you know!

Thank you *so* much for the support and welcome backs, everyone !!!

Re: So here I am -My story & why I'm here again!

Brook - not all separations are final. Not all divorces destroy a family. It sounds like you (and I hope the dh) are making the kids the ultimate priority. This is the way.

When my ex and I split, we told our friends and family that there is only one side to take - the kids' side. And we were both on that side, as well. We have remained best buddies, and I, too, will love him until the day I die, though no longer in that romantic way. He's like the big brother I never had. We all vacation together, do holidays together, and our kids are very secure.

If you divorce in the end, it doesn't have to be the usual nasty story. If you get back together, you will both be the stronger for it, and the bond even richer.

You're doing great! It's hard to keep balancing everything....let us know if you feel like something is about to drop!

Hey, Brook - what veggies do you eat 5-6 cups of each day?

I am glad to see someone loses eating that many veggies a day- I was just thinking on my way home that I wanted to start a post asking about just that... Take away my bread, pasta, and potatoes... BUT I cannot give up my veggies! I bet I eat 5-6 cups a day too... I eat tons of squash, lettuce, zuchinni, eggplant, spinach, here lately vidalia onions( are those ok?), and many more- However- all the veggies I eat are on the induction list... What does everyone think about this? I think I will start a new post!
Caution I BITE! clicky clicky..its tricky rikki!

Re: So here I am -My story & why I'm here again!

I'm a romaine, iceberg, spinach, tomato, cucumber, jicama, eggplant, broccoli, cauliflower, pumpkin, mushroom, celery, asparagus, zuchini, onion and spaghetti squash girl. *Love* them all and mix and match them all every day. It's easy to pull 5-6 cups of the above and not go over 20 net.

Rikki- as long as you're measuring what you're eating and staying under your carb count, I'm of the "go for it" frame of mind. I have yet to meet anyone that got fat eating the induction list veggies
