Man I am so weird! Last week I couldn't eat, I had almost zero for an appetite, but the minute that TOM is a week away...LOOK OUT! I am gonna eat the house! ok well a slight exaggeration perhaps...but I just seem to need more food. Am I alone in this? I am fighting the urge to have ANY cream cheese because it does me in, I gain weight when I eat it. So I am trying to eat MORE meat...MORE salad etc.

Re: Appetite
Star........Girl you have know Idea......I wanna eat everything I can get my hands on and then some....And the sugar cravings are sooooo strong.....When this happens I have to take a nap immediately or I will end up tearing the house apart......
If you extremely hungry try eating some pepperoni.....It always makes me thirsty and then you end up drinking plenty of water and that will fill you up quickly....

Re: Appetite
I have felt like that on occasion. Everything seems to be going along fine and then all of a sudden, one morning I wake up raging hungry. When that happens, I eat and eat and eat and eventually it goes away. I eat a big greek omelet or I will have a good rib eye with lots of butter. Yum. I do not eat the sweets. I am so scared that if I give in even a little bit, I will crash and burn....149.8/no weigh/ 119

1st goal: 139 (earlier weight)
what the rungs mean to me:
rung 1 - more veggies
rung 2 - dairy (some milk in coffee)

rung 5 - wine -
rung 6 - beans, hummus
rung 7 - other fruits
rung 8 - carrots/ potatoes (nah, prolly not)
rung 9 - whole grains (fresh Dutch breads...)
Major Goal - 128 lbs/ healthy range
(on to pre-maintenance)

Re: Appetite
I'm feeling the same way....last week I could barely finish my lunch. I'd get queasy at the thought of eating sometimes. Now that my TOM is couple days away, I'm having all sorts of evil thoughts...BUT I did walk past the office donuts without stopping (even for a look)!
I agree with you, I think I'm going to up my portions slightly - hopefully that will help.

Re: Appetite
It does work but if I don't have some tasty seasoned meat ready to devour when these evil cravings hit, then I am doomed. I try to keep greek lemon chicken pieces and pork riblets (also greek) in the fridge at all times. The greek riblets, i could eat those every day YUM!, But if I deviate from my plan at TOM, even for that monthly "treat myself to some cream cheese" adventure...I just GAIN!, and it sets my weight loss back a week! I am not going to let TOM ruin a perfectly good month so this TOM...NO cream cheese! No Pork rinds! No legal treats! I am stoked!

Re: Appetite
I was really worried about my upcoming (that came early) TOM and didnt realize that my sudden fascination with Finellys cheesecake pudding recipe this past weekend was my PMS cravings. I had some every night for 4 days and now that TOM has arrived I have stopped.
It could be too much of a habit for me and Im sure it would stall me if I was to make it every day. Wish I could though.......... it was REALLY good.
I dont think the salad will do it for ya so hit whatever you can with high fat.
You can get thru! Focus! Post! Gripe over Aunt Flo's visit! Drink water!
Did I leave anything out??

LOLOriginally posted by StarmakerGee I dunno it might have something to do with the fact that I can't help but eat the WHOLE darn BRICK! Whaddya think?
THAT is just how I felt earlier this week. I had to force myself to bypass that particular item today. Had to have my daughter pull me up the aisle as I dragged my feet by............ and wimpered.
I find on Atkins that cream cheese is rather addicting.

:::Gets in line behind all the other PMS eating machines:::::
It's awful, isn't it? I generally stay away from the legal sweet treats in favor of all things sodium. Sure, I blow up like a balloon and retain more water than the Hoover Dam, but <shrug> I'll take water weight that I can flush out (no pun intended - heh) in a day or two over 235402349850349850349856 calories in cream cheese, cheese, and flax seed bread concotions. Re: Appetite
yes yes yes yes yes yes yes.
i'm quite sure that this is partially behind this insane thirst that I have for a mountain dew. Stupid late TOM. COME ON ALREADY!!! lol
but yes, I know what you mean. I didn't eat much the last two days. Today i'm pretty hungry. Not craving sweets in general, but still having at least one craving!
I just eat more meat when that happens.Female

Re: Appetite
THATS it???!!!
I was going to ask but didnt want to offend you because I did that once (on another board) and someone bit my head off and told me that we couldnt blame everything on TOM.!!!!!!!
Oy
Well
Now you know. And it seems plenty of us are on the same schedule this week so we had ought to be prepared for next month ahead of time!

Re: Appetite
*Grin* well, i'm sure that's why the craving won't go away. But I really do drink a mountain dew every time i wake up with allergies like today. So it's a combination really. Habit + TOM = ARGHHHHHHH!
but i'm not craving anything else, so it isn't all TOM - usually i'd be all about the chocolate. I even watched Willie Wonka last night (the original one) and still don't want chocolate!Female
