    How about a thread where we post what supplements we are taking and what they do to help with this woe and general health? I see that we have several people who know a lot, and I know next to nothing.

    So basically: what do you take, and why?

    I take:

    Centrum Silver, because the book tells me to.

    B-12 complex, because the book tells me to.

    Omega oils, because I read somewhere on the board that it is a good thing, but I don't know what it is supposed to help with.

    Measuring every 2 weeks
    As of 10/31/05, losta total of 56.75 inches!



    Minimum 45 min cardio per day

    1. Walmart brand equivalent to the Centrum *Because DANDR said to

    2. B-Complex *Energy

    3. Vitamin C *Extra ammunition against all those colds I come in contact with at school

    4. Calcuim/Magnesuim/Zinc *Someone suggested this when I was having leg cramps on my first go round with Atkins. It worked. I may give them up when the bottle is thru and as long as the cramps dont come back will do without.

    5. Glucosamine *Degenerative arthritis (I also take nabumetone....... I know DANDR suggest giving this up but I have tried and it was not worth it.)

    6. Calcium *I hate milk, and probably never got enough calcium and osteoperosis runs in my family.

    I no longer take the chromium I mentioned a few weeks ago, as my appetite is suppressed and I am not really having constant sweet cravings.

      Well I take:

      Centrum Carb Assist, Because I have been taking Centrums since I was little and they have always help me keep my energy.

      GNC: Total Lean, Because they also help with energy and it helps speed up my metabolism.

      Flaxseed gels: I was told this was very good for the Atkins Lifestyle

          WHEN I remeber, I take CoEQ10 for my heart, I take a multi, I take calcium and I take essential oils.

            I have great energy after taking the......They don't make you jittery or jumpy and you can take them right before you go to bed and sleep soundly....Check them out

              I take b complex, centrum silver, vitamin c, potassium for leg cramps, fish flax and borage oils. Is there a good fiber supplement anyone can recommend? I was looking but had no idea what to get? I am assuming maybe a pill? I guess I am assuming chewables are all going to have sugar?

                If its fiber you are looking for you can use flax meal. Check out the recipe forum and you will find many ways to prepare it. Flax chips, Flax muffins....... are two of my favorites. I have some every day.

                I also think it comes in supplement form.

                  I'm surprised no one has mentioned Chromium and L-Carnitine. They're great for speeding up the fat burning process.

                    I mentioned the chromium. Was using it because I read that it would help with sweet cravings. I am not having that problem, so stopped taking it. Do you take it and do you really see a difference?

                    They are the smallest supplement in my arsenal but the worst to take because of the disk shape. I would choke on em most every time. Go figure.

                    BTW Bill............. what supps do you take?

                        Sorry Terry, I missed that. I think almost everyone should take Chromium and L-Carnitine. These are fat burners, and I see excellent results when I use them. I never heard of Chromium being used to lessen sweet cravings although I'm sure it's possible.

                          Oh gosh what am I taking. I just added suppliments because of some I saw on Betty's (ttdriver) regime.
                          NSI Synergy multivitamin
                          NSI Calcium (citrate malate) magnesium and vitamin D-dem bones dem bones
                          Potassium-I sweat a lot so I'm sure I need it
                          NSI Complete EFA
                          Natures Way Oregano Oil-good for digestive system. also I think it helps my skin
                          NSI Milk Thistle-supposed to be good for the liver I think
                          NSI CoQ10-good for everything...wonder suppliment
                          Metamusil fiber caps-poo sorry if that was crude

                          I was only taking metamusil, oregano oil, the multivitamin and efa before reading a few posts of what better takes. I saw her list....did some research on them and added a few items like the milk thistle and the coq10. Only been taking the latter for about three days so can't really say much as to their effects.

                            I agree. I hate taking the supplements every day becasue of the chromium. WHY does it have to be shaped that way, and why is it not COATED like other ones are????? I am taking

                              Beats me psigna but they are the WORST to take. I may continue with them from Bills post I may also add the L Carnatine too. I hate taking pills. Well not taking them but remembering them seems to be an issue for me even when they are in plain site.
