  • Day 19 Check-in

    Today sucked.I had two eggs for breakfast, a california cobb salad from McDonald's which has a ridiculous amount of carbs even if I didn't eat it all.Never again.For dinner I got barbecue ribs from the chinese place(didn't have any money and that's all my friend bought) and washed off all the barbecue thoroughly(my friend was looking at me like I was craz).So I ended up eating tasteless meat for dinner.Without the sugary barbecue sauce it tastes bland but I wasn't even about to kick myself out of ketosis.Never again will I have such a comination of foods.
    I CAN RESIST EVERYTHING AND TEMPTATION.

    Great job hanging in there and realizing what foods you will have to avoid!

      when I get those fast food salads, often I'll do this:

      avoid the tomatoes, and other excess veggies
      make SURE that the salad dressing is the lowest carb they have. even if it's vinaigrette - often caesar is a good one to get
      DO NOT put the croutons and nuts and whatever on! (This is probably an obvious one)

      the carb count is for everything including croutons and dressing etc... so if you are judicious about what you're eating out of the whole salad, you should be okay.

        Oh great that makes perfect sense.I definitely didn't eat the croutons nor did I eat the tomatoes(probably one,there were three).GOod it makes me feel just a little but better to know that the majority of the carbs come from the nasty croutons.

          Yep, you're probably fine then depending on the dressing - it was probably blue cheese though so you're alright.
