    Re: blah

Thanks for that Finelly....... I think you put it into prospective for me. How about you Knick?

As I said in another post, I am glad to be going back to work.... even though I have grumbled a bit...... but the routine is what I need. Its time. After just so much time off I begin to float in the breeze and thats is what is going on with me.

You've both put so much effort and commitment into this, and you have succeeded, but.......well, let me put it this way. You know how every now and then your body needs to "pause" and adjust to the new weight, so your scale stays the same for EVER?

I think our minds and hearts do the same. I'm not saying you need a break from Atkins, but I am saying that the resolve and the passionate commitment may fade for a bit.

And this is when you need this board the most. If YOU don't have the motivation and the rigid focus, then you need to get it from us.

So Knick - tomorrow is the day to do it super, super clean. Post a menu for us before the day begins, if you can. Commit to drinking the right amount of water and the right foods. JUST for tomorrow. We'll worry about Wednesday when Wednesday comes!

    YOU CAN DO THIS!!!!!!!!!

Um.......doesn't everyone run naked thru the house yelling "whoopee"? What's so unusual about that?

        Re: blah

I know the last time I did that the local boy scout troop camping nearby knocked on the door.

Apparently someone saw me running nekkid and whooping and they naturally thought the Stay-Puff Marshmallow Woman was alive and well in Dallas, Texas.

They showed up with graham crackers and chocolate bars and wanted to poke at me with a skewer.

Good advice. Only two of them were my sons.

It's a calculated risk in a town this size. Boy Scouts or Animal Husbandry. And my kids are too young to marry.

Knick, just wanted to let you know I'm with you! I've been feeling the same lately. I was thinking for me that once summer comes to an end it may be a little easier. Lots of events to attend - which provides other temptations for me. But I'm fighting to overcome this and I know you can too.

Your cooking ideas are so great!!!! I always love to see your meals. Drop the cold-cuts girl and share those menu items One thing that has helped me is to cook things in the crock pot (pot roast, or whole chicken), or cook the night before for the following day or two - this way if I'm tired when I get home or just don't feel like cooking, there will be something in the fridge to eat.

                    Re: blah

Every weeks beginning, I make a big mess of ground beef seasoned with salsa, Franks red hot, tabasco and cumin, this becomes my base for many taco salads when I need something quick. Then I make up a roasting pan of greek seasoned roasted chicken and keep that in the fridge to rip into salads, or to have by itself as a meal with some veggies. I also have those brekkie muffins in the fridge for quick snackies and brekkie. It has saved me to do things this way. Its a busy cooking day but worth it for the convenience and ease the rest of the week. Just a tip, might help you stay strong! You are so close.

                      Hi everyone!

That's exactly been my problem - i haven't been planning ahead. Usually i have my breakfast quiche ready on sunday night and I make ground lamb or beef mixed with green beans for easy lunches. I'll always make 3 or 4 of anything I make so there's leftovers etc... But in the last couple of weeks I havne't done that at ALL!

when i get back from my trip i will though.

Just a thought knicknack - are you still on induction?
Perhaps you are getting bored with the routine?
Maybe moving on to OWL and after a couple of weeks being on the dairy rung and able to add yogurt etc then move on to fruits then nuts/seeds might get you motivated?
You ough ot be starting soon anyway if you havent yet so you can lose your last 5 pounds in pre-maintenance.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
