  • STRICT INDUCTION day THREE

    Okay all, it's day three... how are we doing?

    I'm doing pretty well, but I did have a glass of wine last night. For some reason my brain keeps thinking that wine doesn't COUNT even on strict induction and I know I'm insane. Oh well.

    But, my food yesterday:

    ground lamb and green beans * 2
    buffalo wings and celery
    one glass of red wine

    exercise:
    2.5 mile brisk walk
    bicep curls

    water:
    drank plenty but I can tell i'm headed into ketosis because my lips are super chapped!

    knickknack, girl! Now don't make me come over there. Did you get enough water? Enough veggies? It doesn't look like you ate very much! Don't make your big sister come over there and shove a pork rind down your tonsils!

      I was thinkin the same thing, it doesnt look like she ate very much...... VEGGIES WOMAN, eat your veggies!! mmmmmmmmm buffalo wings yum!

        i had two cups of green beans! I mix in a can of green beans with the ground lamb, so it works out well.

        two cups or so of ground lamb

        and 9 chicken wings with 6 pieces of celery. all in all it was something like 1500 calories, so i'm not worried! (amazing how many calories are in buffalo wings!)

          On strict induction you're only allowed one serving of green beans and 2 cups of salad veggies! You're so BUS-TED!

          Kidding! But remember, those salad veggies are most important the first 2 weeks! The other veggies are so starchy that they're limited.

            I thought you could do one extra cup of the other veggies instead of the 2 cups of greens though?

            I haven't been doing greens much at all since I started - just green veggies for the most part, but not so leafy shall we say?

              Things are going great here on my end! I had loads of energy today, it felt great!!!

              3rd day and no cheats! WooHoo!!!

                I don't think I am in ketosis yet, but I hope to be in the next day or so. I am cheat free, and working on my water and exercise.

                  Knick - what is in those buffalo wings? I mean the sauce. Also, you HAVE to eat the right veggies. Don't make me send the cats after you.

                    I didn't know we had to eat a certain amount of veggies? I know we can't eat too much, is it possible to not eat enough of them as well? I ate at 4:30 this morning, but wasn't able to eat again until 2:30. I was hungery, but it wasn't that bad. I was on the road and had to stop at BK. Got a triple Whopper with cheese, plain and dry. It filled me up. (and no I didn't eat the bread)

                    This morning I four scrambled eggs with Bell pepper, onion, sausage and cheese. I drank one glass of Crystal lite. I'm going to try to limit them to one a day only if I have to have it. We went to the gym this morning and had a good workout.

                    Today has been a good day. No cravings at all. I feel good, no headaches or any other problem. I did gain one pound when I weighed, but I know that is normal. It don't bother me none, I feel a heck of a lot better than I did last week.

                      An ESSENTIAL, NON-NEGOTIABLE component of this woe is that you eat 3 cups of veggies per day. 2 cups minimum must come from one list, and you can add 1 cup from another. Basically, the minimum 2 cups comes from things like leafy greens and lower-carb veggies. The additional cup can be things like zuchini, brocolli, etc.

                      You cannot eat less than that. You just CAN'T.

                        I wont repost what I already have but today went very well. Food ... yep after I have supper will have inclueded all my veggies. No snacking, no time for it today. Feel ketosis coming back to where I like it. Losing all those hunger pangs. Yay!

                        Got a walk in today instead of a trip to Curves. Water... in Supps.. in.

                        Im beat and will be crashing early tonight I can tell.

                          Induction going great here as well!

                          I eat food according to it's weight - not cup measurements. The carb counts are more accurate that way anyway and the truth is that I eat a lot more veggies

                          Remember, I work nights Wed-Fri so my hours and meal times are wonky. -

                          Brunch was a 2 egg omelette with 3oz steak, 1oz tomato, 1oz fresh mushroom, & 1.5oz cheese. Yum.

                          Linner (LOL) will be 6oz chicken breast with Franks & Blue cheese with about 5oz broccoli & an ounce of shredded cheese.

                          Dinfast: Tuna salad (tuna/mayo/celery/teeny bit of pickle/cheese)

                          Lotsa water.
                          1 cup of coffee with cream and splenda

                              So I'm going out of town tomorrow morning at the crack of dawn, and while I expect to have internet access I don't know for sure. SO! One of you will have to be responsible for starting the thread every day for the strict induction folks!
