    Re: Coming soon.....need HELP

GRRRRR..... they didn't pay me for Labor Day....now I'm even broker...

I decided I'd give it a try with the disgusting food I have on hand. It would be easier if I could reward myself for starting up with a few yummy foods, but it aint gonna happen til next week's check when DH gets paid.

I read some very helpful sticky's and measured this morning, took some tuna and celery for lunch and lots of water of course. Even when off the plan, I still continued guzzling water and having my disgusting pukey eggs in the morning (most important meal of the day), so nothing's different YET than usual.

Induction would give me a horrific migraine, so I'm starting with more OWLish eating for this week, as I'm off my migraine preventives and want to stay drug-free. Which is another good reason for low-carbing. I'll re-induct when I get through a little carb withdrawal. I know this is not the ideal way to get started again after a binge, but it works better in my case.

Groceries should not be a problem after next Friday, Lord willing. The end of last month I had to spend $700 on my little car for which we budgeted $300. It's in great shape now, which is more than I can say for my sorry carcass. In the meantime, I will have to cook what I have in the pantry and freezer. They also had some real nice country-style spareribs at Food Lion yesterday, I might spend $2.50 on them for Sunday if I can figure out what to do with them besides slather with sugar-laden BBQ sauce. Any suggestions?

oh country stile ribs go good with a dry sugar free rub I used either dry rub like a texas sugar free one or BAM which is sugar free from Emiril's recipe on Foodtv.com or you could make your own BBQ sauce without sugar. on over ripe tomatoe makes great tomato sauce base.
basically it is just 1/2 onion chopped fine, 2 hot peppers chopped fine( I like hot food) large tomato chopped 1 T mustard, 1/4 c vinager any flavor you like except basalmic, salt to taste. if you are4n't allergic to soy like me you could add 1T whorcheshire sauce too. 1/4 c water. put it all in a pot and simmer till veggies are cooked. You could do it the long way and sweat the onions and peppers first but heck they will sweat into the sauce if you don't. Since you like sugar you might want to add one of your 3 a day servings of sweetner to your sauce before you slather 0n your sauce.

Oh and since they are on sale they might get marked down even more as they get close to sell by date too.

lemon and greek seasoning with a garlic rub would work well as well.

          mmmmm......

Now...How to cook? My gas grill runs too hot so I'm afraid of doing pork on it. I used to bake that stuff in the oven... what? an hour or so?

Or....can I par-boil them like I do with regular ribs? Or would they fall apart?

Good idea, 2big on looking for the mark-downs.
