  • Hello Future Friends!

Hey Y'all - I'm so happy to be here. First let me say that I am quite technically challenged. After lurking here for a few months I finally decided to join the party and then - d'oh - couldn't figure out how to tell you I was here!! I decided to post in STAC because I bought DANDR (per your recommendations) and started induction in May and everything went well and then I figured I'd stay in extended induction and then, well, summer happened and carbs were creeping and of the 16 pounds I lost, 5 or 6 came back. So now I'm back on induction. I know I can do it, but since you guys have all inspired me so much already, I figure I might as well put myself out there and be more accountable. I won't make this any longer than I have to, but I'm looking forward to posting with you all. I'm off now to add some stats to my siggy

    Hi LIR

So glad you are no longer a lurker! I love this board - I only discovered it five weeks ago (don't think it existed when I did Atkins before becoming PG so I stayed on Induction board then). Everyone is very friendly and supportive.

Look forward to chatting to you soon

        Re: Hello Future Friends!

Hi Zara and Sara - thanks for the welcome. Yes, I've started induction today. We did a lot of food shopping on the weekend and bought pounds and pounds of whole chickens, ground beef, pork....I forget what else. That was partly why I sort of fell off, I think, because the freezer didn't have much in it and it gets really boring if you don't have lots of options. This time around I'm going to skip the cream cheese and sour cream for a couple of weeks. It didn't slow me down the first time, but I think they are triggers. I have a problem telling the difference between 1 oz and 1/4 cup of sour cream. But my eggs are devilled and my freezer's full and my induction list is posted in 3 places. I'm ready. That blubber is going to be blubbering like a baby and begging for mercy in no time. Heee. I'm so happy to be with you guys.

Hi lady! You're already off to a snazzola start! I think you are really smart for noting what your triggers are. Sour cream and cream cheeses tend to make me hungry as well, and there's no reason for such cultured women as we are to chase down a pizza delivery car and gnaw the tires due to the resulting cravings from those foods.

You might also consider joining a few of the challenges to help keep you going!

There is a new 6-week exercise challenge in the Exercise Challanges Forum that's about to begin.

Also, in the Challenges Forum, there are various motivating challenges there to help keep people motivated, too!

Again, welcome, and make yourself comfy! The chair in the corner squeaks, but it's the best one.

Thanks Cleo! Are there carbs in pizza-delivery car tires?? I couldn't find that in my gram counter. I'm looking around for a challenge. I tend to procrastinate - the mid-year challenge looks good. I'm also a fan of the biggest loser. If I haven't joined something in the next coupla days, feel free to kick my booty (watch out for the rebound - it's pretty springy).

lady-- our booties and delivery car tires.

Both springy...but whether they make for a Good Year or not is up to us!

Sounds like you have a great plan in place! Pre-planning is the key to success IMHO. It seems to be the one thing that always screws me up.

LOL... as you get to know Cleo, you will find that while she would NOT endorse chewing on the tires, she wouldnt be above asking to drive around with the guy for a while and just deeeeeeeeeeeeeeply inhale the whole time.

I think you can go to jail for that, in some states!

Welcome, Ladyred... Tis an amazing journey, and a great bunch of folk to be on it with!

Unlike SOME people, I've never even been TEMPTED to chase pizza delivery trucks and/or gnaw on anyone's tires. That is just tacky. Low class. Filthy. And, frankly, smacks of lunacy.

NORMAL cultured people (i.e., me) chase the icecream truck and just try to suck on popsicle stickers on the back.......

Yeah, and I lost a lot of blood, which meant I weighed less the next day.

Welcome to the crazy world of ADBB. Never a dull moment around here. Actually, if you lived in my neighborhood, you could probably get quite a workout chasing the pizza delivery men around. Every time I turn around someone seems to have ordered out.

Best wishes and keep us posted on your success!!
