Remember I complained that I'd been retaining water for 2 weeks?
Well..........halfway through the morning I was peeing every 1/2 hour, but only a TEENSY bit. Very annoying, and if I'd had DISCOMFORT I would have assumed it was a bladder infection and headed for the dr's office to pee in a cup on my lunch hour. But it wasn't the discomfort of my usual bladder infection....
But I was driving by the dr.'s office on my lunch hour and thought I'd stop in anyway, because frankly I never retain water for more than 1-2 days. Peed in a cup. Guess what?
I have a kidney infection!!!! The reason I haven't been uncomfortable is that I've been peeing a lot due to the water I've been drinking, so the infection had been diluted. It wasn't until today when the infection went up a notch that the pee stopped coming......
Anyway, I'm on keflex now, which always works for me, and the dr. said that in a day or two I'll start releasing the water I've been retaining. I'm also on the stuff that makes your pee orange, and that's always a fun thing when you go to flush the toilet, lol.
The dr. also advised that I'm in ketosis. Big DUH! I reminded him that I'm doing Atkins and he said "you go, girl" and that often times when someone has a kidney infection while in ketosis, the symptoms just don't manifest the same way. So apparently the water retention was my body's only way until today of letting me know that "something's wrong down there".
