Re: Not for the squeamish
Well, normally I would get a bladder infection maybe once a year and the symptoms would be that I would have to pee a lot and have sort of a cramp at the end. That was the big fat clue for me and I'd just call the dr and get a prescription. I've never had a kidney infection that I know of, but perhaps that comes with an untreated bladder infection - anyone know?
This time, I don't know what came first, retaining water, or the beginning of a kidney infection. I have been retaining water for more than 2 weeks, but didn't really notice anything amiss until yesterday.
Yesterday I started peeing frequently but - how do I say this politely? - the stream wasn't very strong. Usually when I am drinking a ton of water, when I pee, it REALLY gushes. Even if I'm retaining water. This time, it was like turning on the faucet just a little bit.
That was the Big Clue for me this time, but I didn't know that it was a clue, really. I had none of that little urethra cramping and I didn't feel sick. Just some abdominal tenderness, but nothing that would have sent me to the dr. The only reason I went to the dr was that I was driving by there on my lunch hour and had a moment to check in.
I don't know what to tell you except that if you find you aren't peeing a lot, and you know you are drinking a lot of water, AND it isn't TOM time, call the dr!
