  • How do you get all your water in?

I find that drinking mine ice-cold makes a huge difference

I add a couple of drops of oregano to 32 ounces of water for a little extra zip! It's really good after you get used to it!

Also, I do try to drink a lot with a particularly thirst-inducing snack, like pecans, a flax cracker or macadamias. I just polished off 32 ounces of water with only 1/4 cup of pecans!

After exercise, it's easy peasy to polish off another 32 ounces!

How do you make sure you get the right amount of water in a day, especially on days you just don't really want to drink it?

For me the only way is tepid cool water and to chug the stuff. 32 oz at a time until finished. It is just one of those "must do" things like exercise, and the quicker it is done, the better.

I have a one-litre pitcher that I keep at work. At night I freeze it with about 1 inch of water in it and then the next morning I fill it. I usually fill it 3 times during the day and that equals about 12 glasses. I keep my glass filled on my desk and just keep chugging it. I don't mind water. It's the only thing I drink except for my morning half caf/half decaf. I like keeping the pitcher in my office b/c, while I could use the exercise of running to the kitchen every 40 minutes, there's also a chance that something dangerous could be lurking there in the form of muffins or leftover sandwiches from a meeting. Cutting my trips down to 3 means less odds of having a close encounter of the carb kind. Also, if I have the pitcher nearby then I can always refill it, even if I'm talking to clients on the phone - instead of waiting til the call is over and I am dying of parchedness. Then I go home and have a few more glasses.

I drink at least 8 pints of water a day whilst at work. For a start it helps me get up from my desk

          a) to refill my glass
          b) to take a trip to the "little boys" room.

Much better than actually doing any work!!!!!

Re: How do you get all your water in?

I have a 16 oz bottle that I refill during the day. I start out my day by drinking one bottle on the commute in. Drink another one by 10:00 a.m. Drink one for lunch. Drink another by 3:00 p.m. and have one more on the commute home. That gets me 96 oz. Then with dinner I will have another glass with a squirt of imitation lemon juice. I can't drink it ice cold cause it hurts (brain freeze sort of) I usually drink it cool but not cold. I can actually get it down faster if its room temperature.

Re: How do you get all your water in?

I bought four "sport" bottles that total a gallon together. By the end of the day, they must be gone. Ice cold works, or I use a small amount of crystal light generic, way less than they say, just to tinge it a little. Tap water here is BAD unless icy or flavored. I also tend to drink more with a straw than without.

I used to just keep a gallon jug with me, and a long straw, but got tired of the endless comments. No one seems to notice my little bottles.

And I tend to chug, rather than sip.

                  I have 2 20 oz'ers on my desk.

I drink 2 in the morning

                  and 2 with lunch

and 1 to grow on around 3

I then only have to force down 28 oz's at home.

I remind myself that I used to drink 5-6 diet cokes sitting here every day. It goes down smoother with that memory.

I drink bottled water, each bottle is 16.9 oz.

I drink one bottle with my supplements in the morning, 2 bottles during the morning at work, 2 more bottles during the afternoon at work, 1 bottle during exercise and 2 more bottles during the evening.

I actually have no trouble drinking water....I like it.

I have 25-40 ozs before lunch...25 oz. in the afternoon...then if it's a gym night, 25-50 ozs and then another 25 with dinner when I go home. The last one usually lasts the rest of the evening. Oh, if it's Bowling League night, I have at least 1..maybe two 32 oz cups w/ice.

I never drank water before, but I've come to really enjoy it

I have stopped measuring water, I drink it all day and all evening, I have figured it out that I am definately getting in enough water.

Re: How do you get all your water in?

I keep a 20 oz bottle at work I refill all day from the water fountain. Like today I have already filled it up twice and I will fill it 2 or 3 more times before the end of the work day. So I will drink 80 to 100 ozs just at work. I always have at least one more when I get home too. So that gets me to 100 to 120 ozs per day. The only problem I have is when I do not work I tend to drink much less like on the weekends or days off etc... I have started putting a gallon in the fridge so I can drink more at home also. Straight from the tap in TX in the summer is like drinking warm bath water. haha You have to chill it.

I know what you mean wanabeee. Before Atkins I used to hate the stuff and looking back can't believe that I never actually used to drink any!!!!!

No I can't get enough of it.

I take a 1.5 liter bottle to work with me. I usually drink it by 10:00, fill and drink, fill again around 2:00 and drink. I drink most of that before I get home, then finish. I drink at least 3 of those a day. For weekends, I have a 100 oz mug that I fill with ice water and chug that all day. If that runs out, I just put more in!
