  • Attention Newbies and STAC! This is what happens with a little slip here or there...

Okay, I have been around 20g net carbs for 21 days and have been not losing for almost 2 weeks. Here's why:
    http://www.fitday.com/WebFit/PublicJ...l?Owner=Snaggs

I've been "really good" but not perfect. As you will see, I've tinkered the last couple of weeks and included some low carb no no's like beer, little bites of things I shouldn't have but thought I wanted and an increase in aspartame sweetened diet soda this last week (I didn't post that in Fitday).

I'm posting this thread to get myself clobbered in the tushy and also to show the Newbies and STAC (the ones in my boat) how very important it is to stick with plan and not fudge it AT ALL - especially if you're STAC the 20th time around and the body is wise to the induction tricks (like mine).

I am totally with you, Slimn. I have the same problem. I sometimes will do "great" all day. I mean real good, induction perfect. Then, in the evening, I might say "Hmm, I stayed so far under 20 grams, that I have some to kill" Here comes just one beer, the next day it might be a Starbucks. Then, huh, no weight loss. I agree, my body has gotten used to all the tricks after having started atkins about twenty times now. My advice, don't cheat! It isn't worth it.

I have been there and done that! I am losing now! I upped my exercise and lowered my calories- by cutting those foods! I was consuming an extra several hundred calories a week just from drinking low carb beer and such! I feel better too since exercising! AND, it feels good to feel good enough in the morning to get up and exercise!!!!!
So- CUT it out!!!! I won't clobber you but consider this a warning
Caution I BITE! clicky clicky..its tricky rikki!

Thanks! My keto strip are telling me that I'm on track since I cut the beers out - even with coffee and diet soda but I'm working on getting those out of the way most of the time now. "Mostly" good just doesn't get anywhere.

go cold turkey on everything! Sure you know you are going to be misrible for the first couple of days as you endure the physical addiction withdrawls but you can do it. Make a list of why you want to be smaller andhealthier. then make a list of why you want that coffee, ber low carb frankenfood. Then decide which is more important to you the healtheir smaller you or the not allowed food you are about to consume. Force yourself to be accountable each time eat sip/bite. That is practicing carb harm reduction. you might justify one or 2 bites at first but soon there will be none.
Take control you can do it. Don't let those sireen call you to crash.
Oh and there is a study in Psych today that says eating in dim lighting causes cheating especially in the evening Soooooooooooooooooooooo if you do a drive through don't! take it home and turn on the lights and then consume it if you still have too.
          Happy low carbing

you are right, 2Big. I need to figure out how I'm going to give up coffee and diet soda. I've been cheat free except for those things, but I'm scarred that if I take them away, I could really cheat.
