  • Sooooo.... How'd we dooo?

Confessions, honesty, cranky obedience, all are welcome inside these walls!

    How did it go today?

I did well! I ate turkey and a quarter cup green beans even though I made 3 pumpkin pies, 12 rolls, mashed potatoes, and poured eggnog for others. I admit I was a little bit cranky during food prep. I tried to talk people out of pumpkin pie, but what can you do? The whole, "It's just pumpkin innards minus the hunting trip" didn't phase anyone, and home-made pie crust is so my favorite, so I just pretended it was play-dough of big thigh doomy. I still wanted a Diet Coke, but drank water, and I took a nap afterwards and feel a lot better now.

The mountains this evening in Colorado are beautiful, but so are all of you!

    Re: Sooooo.... How'd we dooo?

Cleo, I am so proud of you! Making all that food for others and then not having any yourself is really tough. Believe me, I know, 'cause I've been there.

As you already know, I decided to deal with the holiday food by just avoiding it all. I had a cheese omelet with sausage for breakfast, some chicken salad and legal coleslaw for lunch, and made a crustless quiche for dinner, which I had with a small helping of sugar snaps. (The latter are not for induction, folks, but are great on OWL when eaten in reasonable serving sizes.)

I decided that since it is Thanksgiving, I'd give myself a nice treat. So, I had a mid-afternoon milkshake, made with 2 oz of heavy cream, 2 oz of Carb Countdown, some Splenda, crushed ice and vanilla, whirled in the blender. I savored every drop!

      Re: Sooooo.... How'd we dooo?

I overate my Mixed nuts today as we prepped for the Thanksgiving feast on Saturday with such things like Rice Krispie bars, puppy chow, sugar cookies, and fudge. I simply grazed too much, and did too little. It could have been worse by taste testing the baked goods and sweets, but I still chock this day up to the wasted column.

I know spending time without your loved ones is tough, Chris, but in the end at least diet-wise, you rocked! Good job in staying true.

I did well today. While my family drank Egg Nog and Coca Cola, I drank Dasani Raspberry flavored water. While they ate mashed potatoes, rolls, and all kinds of other stuff, I had salad, asparagus, lots of turkey, ham roll-ups, and a piece of the low carb peanut butter pie (without crust) that I got from Sugarfreesheila's website. I would say it was a success.

I did really good today. I even watched my portion control which is something I've been struggling with lately. I actually feel great. I ate: turkey, cauliflower, tossed salad, devil egg, 1/2 pickle and 2 small pieces of celery. I took my time, ate slow and enjoyed the meal. I'm not stuffed, just satisfied. I drank ice water. My family ate the same thing only pies, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy and sweet potatoes also. I wasn't tempted and it feels good tonight to know that it was a fun day without the guilt or feeling stuffed.

Hope everyone had a good day!!

Oh right. I didn't have Thanksgiving dinner. Thanksgiving was in October here in Canada.

I'm so proud of you all. I guess I'll be the first one to say I messed up a bit....won't go into details just sampled what I shouldn't have...and in the end, it wasn't even worth it. Oh well. I'm at work tonight...will eat "lunch" after midnight so I'm back on track again. I need Boot Camp to kick my butt! You all are very inspiring.

Sorry Cleo. Rowing eh? I should start doing some rowing. There's 2 at the club. It looks like it would be a great workout.

wanna-- I have to say there are parts of me that are muscularish that I didn't even know I had thanks to rowing. It's that good! I make my husband touch my calves and my lower back and say, "touch that!" LOL!

                          That sounds bad doesn't it?

Treadmill next! I have 5 miles to knock out on level 10.

Cool change, you are ok! you admitted you had trouble. Just drink water and eat a high-fat breakfast tomorrow. That seriously helps with cravings!

Did great today Flaxcakes and bacon for breakfast...then I started making the turkey...had a piece of the liver...then later a salad...after cleaning all the pots etc I wasm't hungry...I only have a small convection like oven so it took 5 shots to make the whole turkey after cutting it up.

Finally had some turkey and cauliflower with butter at around 8pm and of course lots of water. It tasted great and I feel great

Sounds like everyone had a pretty good day too!

I didn't celebrate and was feeling kinda down -- all my family is on the other side of the country. I ate my "regular" induction menu but found I turned to extra sharp cheddar cheese for "comfort".....0 carbs but high calories.......I also had 2 skinny cow low carb bars and I'm now sitting here wanting another one.......but all in all, it could of been alot worse.........
