Re: An interesting re-discovery about myself

Michael just called from Myrtle Beach. His letting me know that he truly cares, and misses me, does make me feel so much better. I don't miss him any less, but I feel much less depressed. I didn't have to ask him to call every night, he just said that he would. Actually, he said that he'd call again, tonight, before I go to bed.

It's interesting, though. I've spent most of the afternoon and evening just browsing, and typing a few words, on ADBB. All the cameraderie, and caring, expressed on this board had already done so much to alleviate my depression. I truly consider myself blessed to be among such a great group -- even if Cleo does slap me upside the head from time to time!

Again, I thank all of you who posted above for your words of empathy and concern. I really love you folks!
    -Chris

Glad to hear that. Sometimes I think that ESP has something to do between people when they are seperated. I know when my husband was military and gone for a long time and I'd start to think 'he doesn't care' 'he is probably with someone else' or 'I wonder if he's thinking of me' thoughts, then he'd always end up calling and it would bring me out of my depression.

I'm happy your feeling good about it again. Good vibes coming your way!!

          Anita Baker said it best

          When you love someone
And you have done all you can do
And you set them free and if that love is true
If you love someone, it will all come back to you

Chris Im glad you are feeling better after his phone call. That is a tough place to be. My brother was in the same spot for a long time. It was hard on him and his SO. Hopefully one day you will both be able to share families and times with them together. <hug for Chris>

Re: An interesting re-discovery about myself

Oh, boy, Boxers response about the coronary made me laugh out loud! I sometimes think that if something like that happened to my MIL, then life could be a lot more relaxing. Then, I feel bad and hold by breath until I talk to her and she is in good health.

Plus, after my Thanksgiving episode, and all our Soprano's style talk, I was especially careful to take care of her and made sure that she crossed the street carefully, etc.. Can you just imagine something happening? Ha! Cleo, Terry, we would all be in such trouble.

Anyway, Chris, I am glad that he called. My dh called me last night enroute to Kuwait. Apparantly, it is a long trip. It makes a world of difference to know that they are calling because they are thinking of you at that moment. You are right not to pressure him to call! It makes it that much sweeter...

BTW, Chris, of course he is a manly man! You dig him, right?
