Induction -- Day Seven -- One Week Down!
Woo Hoo!!
Yeah for us! One whole week with half of Induction over!!
Sad to say that whatever is going around started Friday night with a scatchy throat. Saturday I was up and down (in bed) most of the day...I'd get up a little while, post here, read threads, work a little around the house and then go back to bed. The coughing was the worst part. Finally, Matt tried different medicines and the last combo he gave me last night worked because by the time my brother got here (8 pm) I was feeling better and able to function more normal. We had a good time, grilled hamburgers, I made fresh green beans, spinach, fries (for the guys) and cut up some tomatoes. We ate a few olives while we waited for everything to cook. (I was feeling still sorta bad and ended up only eating about 10 bites of my food and couldn't go any more.) We watched "The Rundown" with him and it is nice to see him laugh. He had kidney problems (stones regularly) and is not supposed to eat much protein, diabetic, hypothyroid and had a triple bypass in 2000. So, it is hard for him to find what he can eat -- basically fat (due to kidney & diabetes). He is not monitoring his sugars any more and that worries me some. I wish he'd move nearby so I could watch out for him. I tried to encourage him, if nothing else, to at least get 30 minutes of exercise in a day.
My brother left around 9:30 am today. I was sad to see him go, but with feeling so bad I am worried he may catch what I have too. Matt said that his throat feels a little scratchy today too. (sigh) I told both of them I had 100 degree fever yesterday so at least my brother knew the risks before he got here.
Anyway, we had a good time.
I've been in bed since he left and thought I needed to get up and eat something so I'm eating on my leftovers from last night.
How is everyone else doing today? What's going on in your life?
I'm excited that our first week is over and that the next week will be so much easier. Yeah for us!!
Best wishes to all of you!
