Two weeks of induction completed and I've lost 5lbs. I was going to say "only" 5 lbs, but I know better. However if I compare it with the first time I started Atkins, I lost a whopping 12lbs. That is why I will stay on induction for at least another two weeks. This time I decided to take it one day at a time. My DH asked me the other day how much I planned on losing and I said to him: "25lbs". He gave me a puzzling look. Then I explained that once I've lost 25lbs, I'll set my next goal. Baby steps. One day at a time.

Re: Definately slower Second time Around
Isn't that annoying? I've been on and off this WOE, and gave up for different reasons, one of them being not losing the weight as fast as I did the first time I did Atkins.
The first time I lost like 14 pounds in the first two weeks, and other times 4 or 5, and just gave up.
This time (day 5 right now) is going really good, you can see in my signature...I had quite a break from doing Atkins so maybe that's why?? I hadn't done anything for months....but the down side to that is that I'm starting back at square one.
Oh well...good luck to the both of us, and I know we will be successful this time around if we just stick to it!!!

Re: Definately slower Second time Around
You guys and gals are the best. I had a knockout workout tonight too, I'm hoping that will jumpstart some serious losses. It may not sound like much, bu DH and I walked for an hour tonight at quite a brisk pace (in my world, I'm a sloooow walker), when we got back I found that I had worked up a sweat and my shirt was soaked underneath my jacket, considering it was a balmy 42 degrees F outside....brrr.Started Feb 20, 2006

Hi Nicky, I'm a fellow Canuck. Congratulations on the 5 pound loss, and well done on the hour long walk. You know this WOE works, or you wouldn't have come back. A little bit here one week, and a little bit here another week, before you know it you've dropped a couple of dress sizes. Here's to feeling lighter and better.Binsk

Oh, I have to force myself too Chrisie, today I have sore calf muscles, so I KNOW I got some serious exercise in. How does the saying go? "No pain, no gain!"

Re: Definately slower Second time Around
5lbs is great and it might be a blessing in disguise. A consistent 5 lb loss every 2 weeks will beat a 12 lbs 1 week loss that you GAIN BACK. I'm on my second stint at Atkins WOE and even though I've lost like 8 lbs in one week, I'm nervous about getting discouraged when I start only losing like a 1 pound a week or something. Dont get me wrong - losing a lot fast does wonders for your esteem & your resolve to keep going, however, consistent PERMANENT loss is really what we all dream of, no matter what your lbs/inch loss per week is. Hang in there and let's keep up the good work!Last edited by inatene; March 7, 2006, 01:48 PM.
