  • Back AGAIN !

    I wonder how many times I have to eat for life this way, b4 I realize that this is the only way that really works for me !! I started back on induction Friday, was in Ketosis by Sat night. I have been floundering with different ways of eating, doing my own thing, WW, and just nothing at all. I started on WW last summer, lost some weight and watched my triglycerides continue to climb. My Dr. doubted the dosage of meds for that and as of last week the triglycerides had almost doubled themselves..........as this while my total cholesterol is at 162....explain that to me........I know what it is.......CARBS !! I said enough of this and went back to low carbing it on Friday !! I have been going to the gym 5-6, most of the time 6 days a week since January, so if I can get my eating in line again, I just only pray that I can stay on track forever..........I am sick and tired of being sick and tired..........for those who will..........remember me through out your day.......

      so what you doing for that mandatory exercise part of your Atkins?

        I do cardio for 45 minutes on an eliptical machine at the canned program level 4 for weight loss for 2 days and then the 3rd day, I do a 5 minute warm up on the eliptical machine and then a weight circuit work out set up by my gym and finish with a 20 minute session on the eliptical machine,total process is 1 hour to 1:15 minutes, and then the process starts over with unusually a Wednesday off (church night).

          Welcome Dylansdad! I too have high cholesterol, 203. I got it checked for the first time in January to just get a baseline. ( I started atkins the day after Christmas.) While I was at the dr.'s office i told him i was on atkins and wanted to see what my levels were now so i could compare 6mos down the road. So with the results i get the standard recommended diet shoved in the envelope as well. Of course it's a low fat diet, the almost virtual opposite of atkins. It recommended that i increase my breads to 5-6 a day. lol, i cant wait for new results in june! Good luck to you!

            I too have thought about doing other weight loss plans. But it all keeps coming back to Atkins because I am just not hungry and have lots of energy! Congrats on your exercise program! That is something to be really proud of and is really an accomplishment! I can't seem to get myself on the exercise bandwagon.

              How can they keep doing this with a straight face and callthemselves health professionals? Stuns me. Low fat is proven not to work to lower cholesterol for much of the population, yet they keep on recommending it. More and more documented research shows lower carbs drop cholesterol, high blood pressure and triglycerides. It must be because the drug companies pay doctors bonuses, nothing else would explain it. Surely they can't be that stupid naturally!

                  I am having a slight case of the induction flu I guess. I am eating my veggies,etc like I should, going to the gym, but I swear that I am wiped out by the early evening. I am hoping this will pass and I will get that big boost of energy everyone talks about.

                  I am down 11 lbs., so that part is great......

                      Ticker, just click on your ticker, it will take you back to the site it came from, then click weight loss and change your stats, once you see the change on the ticker click it and click copy then paste it to your signature, easy as hamburger pie!
