Re: Second time, after 5 years

I used to do Callanetics and it works SO fast. Seriously. It's freaky how quick you tighten up. There's a new, updated version that a chick in Australia has started. Her website is Future Gym. (you ought to check it out!) I got the e-book and I am getting psyched about starting up again. When I did the older version, I tightened up to where I was an inch smaller in the waist in a WEEK, and that was without dieting.

I have been looking around, trying to figure out things to eat that aren't off plan. I don't know if I did or not, but man dinner was GOOD and it had very few carbs. I have been craving hot wings lately. I checked the bottle of Franks Red Hot and it ha zero carbs. You mix that with a little butter for the sauce. I cooked up some chicken breast chunks (didn't have any wings) and dipped them into the sauce and it was amazing!!!

If I didn't go off plan (does anyone know about hot sauce besides that it doesn't have carbs?) then I have found something I love to eat =)

Hubby has told me several times that he notices a big change. He said, and you really have to know him to appreciate his humor, "Sweetie, when you got out of the truck all I could think was 'Where's the REST of her?" He's a goof ball.

I've also been making a sorta stir fry stuff with chicken. Just chicken chunks with a little butter, green pepper and a few mushrooms. It's really good. I also have been making that mock danish. That is really good, especially with a dash of cinnamon.

        Illy

I *LOVE* Franks Red Hot. It's totally appropriate because when you look at the ingredient list it's just peppers. Put that with butter on any kind of meat and YUM YUM. We do buffalo chicken, pork and shrimp. I'm drooling just thinking about it.

Your stir-fry sounds fabulous too. Definitely check out the food and cooking chat forum...there is AMAZING stuff in there as far as recipes.

Also check out http://users3.ev1.net/~fontlady/ there is AMAZING stuff there too.

If anyone gets bored with their atkins food...it's because they haven't visited those two sites. Linda Sue (the site I linked you to) has suggested induction menus with links to the recipes...and frankly, if anyone finds that boring...they just aren't Atkins material LOL.

I refuse to get permanently discouraged. Heck, I'm not really discouraged at all. Just a little disappointed.

Know what I discovered this evening? If you make the mock danish and use spices instead of vanilla and cook it on a flat plate, you can use it for a wrap. I roasted veggies and wrapped them up in it! yummy =)

Ok, whew. false alarm. today i'm 12 pounds down total.

question - is there ANY kind of coffee creamer that is okay? i can switch to decaf, but i can't drink it black.

What about using heavy cream? That is what my DH and I use all the time. I used to love powder creamer (Carnation), but since I've started using the heavy cream the other stuff tastes yucky. Why not give it a whirl?

I bought some heavy cream today on the way to work and used it in my coffee. It felt so...naughty!!!

The wrap was really REALLY good! I roasted green peppers and onions and added a little bit of cream cheese, too. One thing I might suggest is to butter the plate a little. It's a bit tough to get off in one piece and butter might help.

Love that wrap idea! Girl! Smart thinking!!!! I use low carb tortillas.. but even those I have to limit.

                        Franks - gotta love it!

LOVE stirfry! Any leftover meat usually gets stirfried when I'm in a hurry I make Dana Carpender's low-carb stirfry sauce.. OMGOSH! YUMMY!

Rachel, just a gentle reminder that the low carb tortilla's usually aren't allowable until the grain rung if they contain wheat or the legumes rung if they contain soy flour.
