I have been off and on (mostly ON) Atkins for three years, um, give or take. I consider myself quite the pro now.
Here is what Atkins means to me...
Induction means to eat all the meat and cheese that you can stomach. There is NO limit and the more you eat, the better. You can even throw in a few Olives and Salads. Preferably Ranch Dressing, which is also unlimited because you are being good so far.
Now, after you are on this for TWO WEEKS, you will have lost 14 pounds. That is the rule, right? Isn't that what I remember reading in DANDR? Well, for me it is usually 1/2 pound and I cannot figure out why!
Then after induction, you can start adding in all the marinara sauce you want, as long as you don't eat pasta. So, I remember discovering Spaghetti Squash back in the day and I know that is good. I guess that means I can have low carb cheese cake now! Maybe some Biker Goddess Pizza AND a low carb Iced Coffee. I think that peanut butter is rung Two, right? Ha!
Then, there is that Lauren who keeps talking about drinking water. I am very good about that. I always fill my water bottle up every morning like clockwork. Of course, at the end of the day, I water my plant with the 20 oz left in it. BUT I DID fill it!
Oh, and someone, I forget who, Skye (didn't forget, eh?) keeps asking me about exercising. Well, yes, I did tell them I would do the Exercise Challenge. I am VERY VERY Faithful about signing up for that and sometimes I even exercise. Slug? My EYE! What is their problem?
Oh, yeah, and check out my signature block. Isn't it pretty? I worked hard on that. Isn't that part of Atkins? I maintain it every day!
Get the point? Anybody out there like me? I consider myself a pro, but after three years, I weigh more than I did when I started. I wonder why I lost 25 pounds when I first started, but haven't lost any since then.
Maybe, just Maybe, I need to go back and READ THE BOOK!
