  • Good Sunday everyone!

I'm sitting here sweating like a pig after running over 2 miles on my treadmill this morning. Major accomplishment for me, when I started I had to walk the entire 30 min at about 3.3 and made a little over a mile. I've been doing the SI6 program for the last couple of weeks instead of running, but I decided to get back on the treadmill today and see how I was. I managed to alternate 3-4 minute sprints at 5.5-6 in between walking at 3.5, and got a great workout. Felt good. I'm sure the 37 pounds not on my frame helps, but I credit a lot of it to the leg muscles SI6 has built up. I wasn't stopping because of my legs, but rather because of my lungs . The scale finally nudged down a bit for me this morning so I'm hoping I broke out of the stasis I was in. On Thursday my work is having our weigh-in for our biggest loser contest. I've lost the most weight by far, but possibly not the most percentage. There's a guy that started at 196 and is down like 26 pounds, also from low carbing (though not strictly Atkins). I had him going into Friday, but if he kept losing and I didn't pick up the pace he'd overtake me. Ah well, I could use that $85 I'd win! Have a great morning everyone.

I bet the climbing of stairs morning and evening at your job also contributed to the strength in your legs...you are amazing, and don't you feel good with these accomplishments? Some of your stories are ones I think on a lot. I still think you doing the cruise and coming back cheat free is such a standard in my eyes, that I think about how I would handle that all the time...in my imagination, I can't say I am there still, too many opportunities to eat and drink... no exercise comes to my imagination, just open bars, and food bars....oh well, thank goodness nobody is booking a cruise for me at all.... I still need to keep my world small...

Happy Sunday all! Way to go on the treadmill, Paul! That is awesome.

Well, i didn't make my little goal of 225 today, but i am just one pound over that so that is fine. That means i lost 1/2 a pound this week... not much, but at least it is a loss, right?

We have two trips coming up in October - one to Portland & another long trip to Chicago by train and then to western PA by car... how am i going to get exercise done??? Any ideas?

Well, maybe doing some stairs in Chicago, should you stay in a hotel...or walking, should you not... or jogging...
If you stay in a hotel maybe there will be a gym...make your travel days your rest days...
Buy one of those big rubber bands and pack it along with your other gear...You can use that...at night work on sit ups or push ups or stuff like that...Take a video with you...
Any of these ideas hold any weight?
