      Re: Friday check-in

Sorry I havent posted here much . Anyway, busy last few days. Yesterday I had no loss, which I expected since we had 2 meals of fast food. Stayed on track though. Yesterday my mom took her dog into the vet for shots and then broght him over so I could babysit. He was acting kind of strange after he got here. He is very smart and we though it was just his way of showing us he was mad he wasnt going camping. A few hours later I tried to get him from his kennel and let him out for a little walk and a bite to eat. He WOULD NOT come out. Now I was starting to get a little worried. He LOVED me, shy was he acting so foolish....Well I noticed he was drooling a little more than normal, but figured he was workd up some. Mind you, the dog was 15 and had numerous shots before. Well a little while later he was not facing me, and then all of a sudden he fell over. His legs were stiff to him being old, and never seemed to cause him grief, but I thought they finally locked up on him. I got him comfortable, and had to get my daughter from school(5mins away). All the while I was calling the vet and they repeatedly told me it was his nerves from not wanting to be at the vet...I knew better. We walk in the door and he was starting to wheeze, almost to the point there was minimal air flow. Called the vet, assistant said he wasnt there and wasnt returning calls or answerig the page. I got pissed, called another vet, and just took him. They rushed out the door to meet us, and immediatly put him on oxygen and xrays and wahtever. They figure he had a brain tumor, and it just took over him. They did know he had a 108 fever and was virtually brain dead when I seen him again. Mom figured it was best to put him to sleep. Even if he did mgically snap out of it, they said he would be blind and many other problems. So I had to let them know. They wanted me to take him home with me, but I just couldnt. I still cant get over this. Ok---A little history. This dog was a mill dog. He was bought as a pup by another couple. My hubby and I did Schipperke rescue, and he was first given to us to care for. They had grandkids and had been rather mean to this little guy. One day he snapped and they wanted him gone. He had come a long way. He LOVED my daughter and she could actually pet him...he came to her for afection. He wasnt food aggressive. Every little kink was worked out. We did have a great 5-6 years with him, but I still feel so awsul. Anyway, today I had a 3.3 pound loss. Wahoo. I cut the grass at hubbys work and did a few things around here.
Today I have to pay bills, groceryshopping, and bible study from 9-11. Boy I need it today more than ever. I just feel so yucky. I almost feel robbed, he was truly an awesome dog.

Morning all. I broke into the 230s today, which felt nice. Fairly hungry this morning but I'm trying to hold off until after the big weigh-in... I need every ounce . I also got a nice run in this morning on the treadmill, which for me means I ran about half the time and walked the rest. Still, I'm up to 2.15 miles in 30 min. where before I was like 1.4 miles. So definately improvement. My goal is to make 3 miles in 30 min by Christmas.

Paul, you ARE a winner. Hope you know that

Schellie - my heart goes out to you. It's never easy to lose a pet. They are truly part of the family.

Work was busy this morning. I'm just getting time to check in. Hubby cooked boneless/skinless chicken breasts wrapped in bacon last night on the grill. MMM Had that for breakfast at 9:30, along with some green beans. Haven't had green beans in a very long time!

              IT'S FRIDAY!

Schellie, i am so sorry for your loss. It is just so heartbreaking. It sounds like it was relatively a quick passing, so that is a good thing. The same thing happened to our "Shadow" a few years ago, my husband's daschund. It was quick and by the time i got him to the vet he was gone (same as your little one... brain dead.) But he really passed at home, and that was a comfort to know. I'll be thinking of you today & keeping you in my thoughts and prayers! Hang in there...

Eh, it's ok. The guy that won looks like a cadaver now. No idea how he did it. I should have kept my mouth shut about how much I was losing, I think I spurred him on . I did have a Russell Stover sugar free pecan delight though. Now THAT is dangerous stuff. Sooooo good.

The real test is losing to get to a normal weight, not losing so much you look icky. Also, who is gonna KEEP it off? Longterm? You are working on that foundation! I'm so proud of you!! enjoy the treat! They ARE good

Schellie, I'm so sorry about your dog. You were so kind to give him a second chance in life and a long, loving one at that. I know how they are family members--I have three dogs, with one at 16 years, blind and deaf. And she snaps and can not be around children at all. Losing them at any age is sad. Schipperkes are beautiful dogs. You and your kids are in my heart and prayers. On a lighter note, congratulations on your 3.3 weight loss.

Paul, Black Diamonds, you're both doing so good! :clap

                          Rachele, That chicken sounds yummy!

sticken2it, I hope you are feeling better today.
