  • Freaking OUT!

You will get a smile, grin or a laugh out of stupid me...I forgot a wedding we are to attend tonight at 5p....Outsdie, guys "coat and tie"...so, I went into the closet this moring, working and looking towards a pair of dress slacks, I just wore to a funeral in early sept...well, if it weren't for the hump right below my navel, they would have fallen to the ground!!! but the hump kept them up, they were so WAY past loose, it was that kinda loose that you can't possible wear to a nice gig....
I freaked out. I really did...it means I have to go shopping for a nice outfit today...It's crazy, absolutely crazy...I dove back into the closet and pulled out a pair of dress slacks from 3 yrs ago, and they fit, size 14 I think, from my last time around atkins...It was still crazy for me!!!
But, hey what a great problem to have now it's just finding something appropriate...and warm..my hubby is laughing in the phone giving me permission to search and buy...laughing like, "well what did you expect, you have dropped basically 30 lbs, did you think you could get by with a size 22?"
YOu know we wear it, we don't always see "IT" the changes...we desire changes, we feel some of the changes, but often we are in the grips of achieving all our goals, and we have to deal with all our emotions of not loosing fast enough or not this or that, then something like this CREEEPS up into my day, and I am freaking out!!!!

    Hooray, Jess!

That's the best kind of freaking out to have! Oh your pants are too big! I'd rather have too big pants anyday...the worst feeling is to have them too small--you can only blame the washing machine for so long. )

Wow, 30 lb. and you went from a 22 to a 14? 30lb. has put me from a 18/20 to a 16. Congrats on your awesome progress! And make sure you buy something fashionable and warm...um...like long underwear?

that is a good problem to have. we used to have a topic abut how to alter your too big clothes by turning them inside out and moving the inseam of your pants and the side seams of dresses, shirts and skirts in, but 30 pounds might be too many inches to fix.

I love it when that happens to folks. Its like the biggest gift, especially when the scales haven't moved for awhile and they try on tight jeans to find out they are now loose jeans. Congratulations

Nice deal Jess. I would say sorry that your clothes didn't fit but by losing the weight you earned them not to fit. So get you some nicer smaller clothes.

                          Re: Freaking OUT!

Whew, you guys. The wedding was great, it was very cool, windy and I was very comfortable in my new slacks and tuxedo shirt....it felt just right. People who I hang out with all the time in church, came by and my old boss walked up to me and I have not seen her since May, well she was blown away...So I guess the rabbit is now out of the hat and people can see some changes...it's weird the fatter you are, it takes a while for anyone to notice weight loss and yet they sense something...Matter a fact, my old boss, well she moved locations and the gal who works for her in my old position, well the gal is dieting and exercising because of our mentoring relationship these last 6 weeks, and My old boss says, "hey Dawn is doing this too!!!" I thought, where do you think she got it from??? Me...
                          Rabbit's out of the hat...
There was nothing I could eat at the reception, and nothing I could drink...no water I could find on the steps of the courthouse, in the gardens of the square...so I just hung OUT! It was a special time.

That is wonderful news! I'm glad you had a good time at the wedding

It is one of the problems with Atkins though. It just gets so expensive having to buy new clothes all the time!!

*feels very resentful about having to buy lots of new clothes*

I'm so happy for your loss and the excitement of your clothes being too loose! One of the best problems to have.

I look forward to watching you shrink and getting even more fired up!

                              BTW, how 'bout some pics?
