  • What do you fill up on ???

    Hiya everyone

I've been on maintenance since July or so 2005 - but this summer 5 lbs sneaked up behind my back - honest.. it wasn't me!!

So I'm on Induction second time around - I actually already feel sooooo much better without those evil carbs .. which made me tired, lifeless and I craved like mad ..

Just a question to find out what others do ... you know when you are truuuuuly hungry .. what do you all "fill up" on .. which is obviously legal !..

    Just curious

    Have a lovely evening all

I love omelettes! I think that's my favorite meal...I boil them in a bag, and when they're done, I put a pat of butter on them.

For a snack, I'll have celery with ranch dressing, or my alltime fave, pepperoni with mozzarella cheese, microwaved until melted, topped with oregano. Tastes great, but ya can't breathe on anybody for hours after!

I also like grilled chicken tenders, and I dip those in ranch, or butter and hot sauce

Eggs are awesome and very filling. Whether as egg salad, devilled eggs or hard-boiled or scrambled, they're hard to beat... well, they're easy to beat if you're talking about with a fork...

I was just re-reading that too LOL - I know my English is bad but I was getting worried there =)))

Great ideas though -- pepperoni is like salami sausage right ??
cos pepperoni in Italy means large red/green pepper

I made up an awesome egg salad recipe, too. It's seriously delicious, but it probably sounds weird. I call it my crunchy zippy egg salad! It's hard-boiled eggs, with red onion, chipotle mayonnaise, chopped black olives, chopped dill pickle and chopped tomato.

                It is seriously wunnerful.

Re: What do you fill up on ???

**NOTE TO SELF: MAKE DEVILED EGGS!**

When I'm hungry, I have been known to pan fry some tilapia and shrimp in a nonstick skillet with a sprinkle of parmesan on it, sprinkle of old bay and a pat of butter! MMM. It's a lower calorie protein so feel like I'm eating good, but only adding minimal calories to my intake. Protein fills me up for a long time. Seems like when I get to snacking I cannot stop.

Cheese chips are good. I put garlic powder and red pepper on mine MMM

                  Peperroni chips too!

                  Vienna sausages

Cream cheese mixed with splenda and a teaspoon of sugar free pudding. (I'm trying to break that habit as I think the pudding stalls me!) You can use cocoa for chocolate and some use canned pumpkin

                  Celery and cream cheese. MMM

Meatballs with mozz cheeze and 1/8 cup jar pizza sauce and some oregano MM

And there is always veggies with ranch dressing

Tomatoe slices topped with deli meat and mozz cheese and then passed under the broiler until cheese is browned slightly MMM

chicken broth with canned chicken (drained) added to it. A smidgen of heavy cream, brie cheese.. black pepper... green onions.. MMM you can add veggies to it if you'd like and make a soup.

Egg drop soup - chicken broth, green onions, sesame oil, and an egg drizzled in while you stir the soup. it's especially good with a romaine lettuce sammi. (romaine lettuce becomes the "bread" and you fill it with meat, cheese, mayo, mustand, pickle, etc.) Soup on the side! Really filling.

Those are my quickies.. hope you find something that sparks ya taste buds

Re: What do you fill up on ???

wow thanks for all the marvellous ideas .. I realise I keep to such a boring selection of foods that I obviously get fed up

For breakfast I have espresso - no milk and mix 0.5 ounce of mascarpone and 0.5 heavy cream with a little coffee - yum !

Lunch I am always soooo boring : broccoli or cauli with cheese sauce thing I make (no-carb) with either pork chops or sliced turkey or chicken. (in the summer I was eating green salad with low carb dressing).

Dinner : or eggs - omelette etc. or meat again ......
                    Snacks : salami - cheese

I am so boring lol ...... now I will reread all your tips

                    thanks a lot!

Re: What do you fill up on ???

Boiling an omelette is easy and yummy!

I put a pat of butter into a recloseable sandwich bag and mush it around the bottom, then I break my eggs right into the bag. I also add chopped veggies, cheese, seasonings, etc, whatever I want. Zip the bag closed, and squeeze well to mix ingredients. Place baggie into a pot of boiling water and let "cook" for 15 minutes. When it's done, it just slides out of the bag and onto your plate. I used to pre-mix the eggs in a bowl, but I took someone's suggestion on here and just started mixing all the stuff in the baggie.

I make one of these EVERYDAY basically, before I leave for work. Once the water's boiling, I just spend those 15 min. doing my makeup, packing gym clothes, etc. It's actually a pretty time-efficient breakfast!
