      1st goal: 139 (earlier weight)
      what the rungs mean to me:
      rung 1 - more veggies
      rung 2 - dairy (some milk in coffee)
      rung 3 - seeds, nuts (mostly sprinkled on salads)
      rung 4 - berries, melon
      rung 5 - wine -
      rung 6 - beans, hummus
      rung 7 - other fruits
      rung 8 - carrots/ potatoes (nah, prolly not)
      rung 9 - whole grains (fresh Dutch breads...)
      Major Goal - 128 lbs/ healthy range
      (on to pre-maintenance)

          No, I never found you. Good to see you back though. There are so many new people around. I just love it. They are keeping me on my toes. I am pretty bad about skipping a few days here and there (okay weeks....) but I always meander back. You were gone awhile, though!! I love your posts! Such food for thought here.

            I am a second timer. Mostly lurking now-a-days since I have been stuck at the same weight for too long now. Hard to give out advice when you can't get the scale moving yourself. Anyhow, I am checking in for rollcall! Present!!!

              OMG ~ Cleo-freaking-chatra!!! I am so glad to see you back here. I was wondering where you went - you are my most favorite oldbie! I was wondering where the peeps went from last fall too... i went MIA and AWOL for several months last year this time...(don't know if you even remember me) just got my stuff back together this past July and started coming back here regularly since then.

              Great to see you back! I look forward to catching up and reading all of your posts... i dig your humor, girl!

                Hello...I'm not sure if I'm even supposed to be posting here--I have paranoia about typing where I don't belong...like, I've only been a member for 6 weeks or whatever, do I have tenure?

                ANYWAY, about modified OWL...Joy and Cleo, I'm glad you explained it! That's been my plan, and I didn't know how to explain it in words as clear as yours. Geez, all this time I thought I was a genius because I came up with this crazy idea to rotate foods from the rungs but stay at a low daily carb count.

                I'll have to let you know my successes with it--right now I'm on veggies, and I've added in another serving, but usually I try to make it a non-salad veggie, like green beans (YUM!!), turnips (DOUBLE YUM!), and soon to try spaghetti squash. I'm not a fancy person with veggies--I pretty much stick to my favorites and don't get sick of them. I'm excited for the dairy rung just because I want to eat yogurt again. I don't give a rat's behind about more cheese or drinking milk (YUCK).

                Thanks for giving a clear explanation of modified OWL!

                  Hi, juli-- I have a strict and fast rule when it comes to my posts: everyone is family, so come on in! I'm not judgemental, and I like to have fun and get to know people. You're one of those people! So, please never feel like you're not welcome, because you are! Isn't modified OWL a hoot?! Get it? Bwaha?! OK. Nevermind. Yeah, it's funny how some things make so much sense, half the time we come up with them ourselves! I absolutely adore modified OWL. The problem is, it's addicting and I hate leaving it! I am a total yogurt fan, too! And with the kefir exception, I just never feel hungry, and it's pretty ding-danged low carb! I'm like you. Bring on the yogurt!!!

                    I love kefir, it's the best dairy product ever, after Fage greek yogurt. YUM!

                          OOooooh, Kefir is this yummy yogurt drink stuff. I think it's turkish. It's in my dairy section at the grocery store. Well, it isn't with the milk, actually, and it isn't with the yogurt either. It is kind of with the orange juice, oddly. You should ask if they have it at yours!
