  • It's Thursday, Thurs Check in!

    Today is Thursday, I have my days right!!! Still dark out, still very early. We had a great day yesterday. Cleochatra is here chatting away, and bringing some awesome information along with her.
    Hope to hear from all of you guys today. Seems alot of us are buzzed up on exercise these days...That's great, huh!!!

        Richt, man you scared me. I checked my calendar and then I see your post and i think, the admin is stalking me making sure I don't blow it...then I realized that is so far from your very kind nature and the way you bring a little friendly tweek...
        You are awesome for keeping tabs on us! Thanks for all you do.

          Hello!
          I was MIA yesterday, due to a meeting in another city. I had a substitute for the whole day, as I couldn't take just a few hours off or even a half day in this case. I felt like I was playing hookey! It was kind of luxurious though...got to sleep in until 7am, then I went to the gym in the a.m. so I could spend extra time with my boyfriend later on. It was like being in college again...sort of a weird bizarro world schedule.

          Today I am back at school and ready to teach! I am also excited about my weigh in tomorrow, because my boyfriend was amazed at how skinny I (supposedly) look. I agree, I do look thinner but I'm worried about how much muscle I've put on. I feel like Ah-nold. Seriously, I've put on as much muscle in a few weeks as it took me last year to put on in 5 months! I've talked to a trainer and she doesn't seem concerned, but I also think she's not the brightest crayon in the box...

          OK well, I hope everyone has a great Thursday, and DRINK YOUR WATER!

            Good Morning Everyone!


            Well, had another hurdle to overcome last night... hubby took me to this place called Bubba Gump Shrimp co. for dinner (we had a gift card). I looked up their menu online... was all set to get a shrimp cocktail minus the sauce of course and a rib-eye steak, maybe some more shrimp grilled and veggie... well, we got there and no steak... THEY RAN OUT!!! So, I got the cocktail, asked for melted butter and hot sauce (which was really good)... then I grilled the waitress about the crab meat in the stuffed shrimp...she must've thought I was nuts... but I had to make sure there was no bread or filler in it...So, I ended up having the shrimp stuffed with crab baked in garlic butter covered in monterrey cheese and a side of broccoli. It was okay, but not what I had been hoping for! Oh well...learn and live!

            Today is day 30 of doing this woe...will take during pics later after work... now I have to get back to work and then pack. pack and oh yeah pack!

              I shopped until I dropped! I got a new coat and some lacross clogs for the rainy/muddy yard!

              I had a lot of fun trying stuff on. I'm learning a lot about shopping and starting to pay attention to what people are wearing (colors, styles, what looks good on body types, etc) I'm between sizes and will wait until closer to Cmas and then get a wow Cmas outfit. My current clothes can do until then. I should have a good selection of shirts that will look soo much better this year

              Expecting more rain, got a kid who is home sick.. time to go pump her full of water and refill my own.

              Exercise is out of the way and I'm raring to go!

                Hiya folks!

                Things are going well here. Still on the wagon (phew!). I went out to dinner last night and had a filet covered with garlic butter, green beans, and a side salad. I feel like I've gained a few pounds in the last week because I wasn't paying attention really and I went off plan to try to meet my deadline. But, well, that's alright - it's the long term that matters most.

                Found out I have absurdly high cholesterol. But, my good cholesterol is high so it actually isn't THAT bad. I have a good doctor who is letting me try 'diet and lifestyle' changes before making me go on medicine.

                anyway, that's my report!

                  Still trying to get the hang of posting. Today's my one week anniversary as part of the family and day 8 of induction. (Only one teeny tiny cheat I recovered from, yeah!) I've discovered cucumbers, and quickly became addicted. Love them!! But the weekend is looming and I am already starting to get nervous. Weekends kill me!! Need some advise - on weekends we are always out and about and eat out at least once each day!! Any suggestions for self control. I've lost 8 lbs so far and don't want to slip. I'm about ready to cry and I haven't even put anything into my mouth!

                    Congrats on loss so far. Try looking up web pages for the places you frequent. Most have nutritional information and list carbs. I was shocked when I looked up Sonic's chicken wraps! I thought I was doing good by picking something that they presented as "healthy". If they don't have a nutritional listing.. stick with salads and top it with a grilled chicken breast.

                      I'm on the road, taking a short vacation and we pulled into a WiFI site (We're RVing) But tonight we are going to be at a State Park and won't be home til Sunday.

                        Hello all...

                        Let me start by saying I cheated yesterday. I was 1/2 way through a sandwich when I said "What the **** are you doing? You've lost 49 pounds on Atkins!" I am not entirely sure WHY I cheated. I think, to be honest, I've just been slack lately. Anyway, I was thrown right out of ketosis and was up a pound this morning, so I'm paying the price. Well, that was yesterday.

                        Today is a new day. I got back on the treadmill for the first time since my surgery and felt like a giant slug, but I did it. I rededicated myself to getting enough water, and I tossed the low carb pecan clusters I had in my desk (those things are sinfully good). I felt guilty, but I'll admit it didn't last long. It was an episode. It's over. And I'm not going to fret about it. Too much to do! Thankfully all the funerals are over, the travelling is done, and I'm back home and able to cook for myself.

                          Today is day 11 for me. Trying to hang in there and not get discouraged. Weighed myself yesterday and had 0 loss! Still being true to the plan and trying not to get on the scale again until Monday. Went past a glass window today on my way into the bank and didn't realize my butt was so huge!!! Got depressed again but cheered myself up by saying that I'm 11 days into doing something about it. Gotta be more diligent about exercise. Are there exercises challenges on this site, too? Maybe that will motivate me.

                            Rae, Girl hang in there, just keep doing the induction program...do it straight up, no bending the rules, stay away from the scales at least til monday...Go where things are positive and TRUST the program, we are all telling you it' words, TRUST, tho you can't see it yet, allow your body time to get use to this...TRUST IT...

                            Paul, man you better tight it up, I have been here since you and I have not lost 50lbs...You set some goals, you are running a half marathon next yr...you survived that darn cruise, now rise up mister, and get a grip! You are a hero of mine...the hard times are past, time to get back to building up on that treadmill and taking the world by storm....
                            G...hang in there, you are moving forward all of this is a timely journey...don't look for instant success of expect way too much out of the first two weeks, think about things you are changing and remember change takes a little while to get use to...Set some short term goals to focus on.

                              Jess, I'm adding more exercise starting today. I'm doing 20 minutes on the treadmill and will bump it up to 25 or 30, in hope to speed weight loss. You are doing so wonderful!

                              stikin, You did great at the restaurant. I haven't been that brave yet. When I started to think I wanted to use a gift cert a neighbor gave us for helping her, I started thinking baked potato,bread, and crackers. So although it was just thinking about carb foods, I knew I'd be better off the wait.

                              Rachel, Glad you had fun shopping. I hope your girls feels better soon. I love the benefits this Atkins' way of life helps us all get healthier, like lowering cholesterol

                              g, Hey G, Good to see you posting. Congratulations on your 8 pound loss! That is fantastic! To keep self control in check, it's important for me to have foods handy, like 0 carb chicken or beef cooked up and cut into dice size pieces. Just a small bite or two at a time does the trick. I have also grated an ounce or two of my cheese allowance and nibbled on those shredded pieces for a snack.

                              Desertthorn, Have fun RVing. This is our favorite time of year to go RVing, but haven't been able to get out yet.

                              paul, I'm glad you're home and able to get back to your own cooking. And you did great catching yourself. Last year I bought some Russel Stover low carb candy and loved it. I ate the 1 lb. box over one week, and then went and bought two more boxes. I ate 1/3 of the next box in one day. I ended up tossing the rest, and the last box, unopened in the trash. One time of over eating that stuff did me in for good. I will never eat low carb candy again. LOL

                              Rae, Hang in there. I'm slow with the weight loss too, so I am having to learn patience. I have not weighed since Sunday and feel better then when I was weighing daily. Check out the exercise forums. There are all sorts of challenges going on. I have a tread mill, so I started in that challenge. Keep up the wonderful work!

                              I'm doing great today and ready to face my Atkins' way of life with no problems. I hope everyone has a great day!
