Re: It's Thursday, Thurs Check in!

Thanks for all of the support everyone. Yes...I'm hanging in there. One question....at the end of 2 weeks, do I move on to OWL or stay in induction (especially considering the fact that I might not lose anything)?

      Rae,

It's a personal choice. Some found they lost more as they added back. Others wanted to lose weight faster so they stayed at induction levels longer.

I'd say add back for one week and see how it goes. You'll be adding back veggies.. cannot go wrong with veggies

Thanks, Rachel. Maybe I'll try adding back. Haven't lost so far so I may as well give it a try.

Hey Rae, Chpt 13 and 14 of"Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution" are wonderful in asking you the questions you need to consider as you approach going to OWL or staying on extended induction...I love induction, and have extended it! I am not seeking more at this point, but as Rachel said there are a whole lot of people who have gone on, and done very well.
I want to encourage you to read the book, making sure to get the 2002 edition...I want to encourage you that results are coming, this diet reduces hunger, cravings and allows you to burn fat...give it a chance!

Hi Jess. I have DANDR. I'll reread those chapters. The first time around, I really focused on the chapters that explained how/why the program worked and the ones on induction. I was just wondering if I should move on to OWL considering that I haven't lost anything. Do most people move on only after they've lost a considerable amount of weight? Don't mind on staying on induction longer....it's not as difficult as I thought it would be (as far as hunger is concerned).

Re: It's Thursday, Thurs Check in!

Rae, I have read where some who start up the rungs loose well...some stumble with the different foods...I have not gone up because I have 80-100 lbs to loose, and I am fine on induction...I will move up and out once I get bored here...It's almost 3 months and I am doing fine.
So, I've heard it both ways...I don't think you can rush weight loss, your body is in control. Settling into one of the ways and just allowing it to work will be best.
To you these are the biggest 20lbs ever, but in all reality you are very close to goal weight. It will take some time...it's not a good "quick fix" plan at all...
It gets you free of sugars and carbs that are so addictive to the addict and if they get back into them, most gain alot of weight back, because they have lost their restraint and can't get control again! Good luck on your decision and keep us posted here at STAC

Re: It's Thursday, Thurs Check in!

Thanks, Jess! You always give good advice. I know that I shouldn't expect the weight to drop off because I didn't gain it in a week or two. I just need to learn patience. You've given me something to think about though....because I consider moving up, I need to read DANDR again to make sure I follow the plan to a T!
