  • Check in Wed 11/15

Hope I find this thread full of the newbies. Ya'll come here and check in, and fill us in on your journey, we need you and you need us!
Today I reflected on the "terrible tues" I had. While biking I realized I could not take my hands off the wheel/ handlebars...I could not take my eyes off the path, and I had to be extra careful of my speed and position as I went around a blind curve due to walkers, and kids on scooters who are outta control!!!
You don't cruise...We can't cruise. Every day it's the same work hard to keep all points firing...I found yesterday I had more strength than I knew...I found it wasn't really as hard to actually do the right thing as it use to be. The momentum is established, it was just a matter of focus and follow thru.
Once we can jog for a mile, we get use to it, and it's pretty easy to make it happen...Atkins and all it's work gets like that after a while and then the days you are hit hard and don't wannta make it happen, you can easily follow through regardless of how you feel...
Maybe that is maturing...ALL HARD WORK PAYS OFF!!!! IT LEADS TO STRENGTH, AND DETERMINATION AND STRONG WILL.
WORK HARD, FOCUS AND FOLLOW THROUGH

Glad to see your focus has not wained I'm off today and plan to do some things around here and get my water in! After lunch I'll run into town (yes, I'm country folk!) and run some errands. Laundry is calling. I have a ton of lists to make today.

I will drink my water. Laundry. Lunch/supper. Prepare for Tgiving. Once Tgiving is over I will concentrate on Cmas .. one thing at a time.. focus, focus!

Now to follow thru - time to exercise so I can shower!

        Hullo, JESS and STACers!

It's a cold Wed. morning here, and my hair is about 20 feet long right now and it's STILL wet from a shower I took 2 hours ago. It probably froze at some point, then had to thaw, and now can start its drying process. I wish I had something deep and inspirational to talk about this morning, but sorry guys, all I've got is hair.

Wow Jess, that's creepy . . . I had a "bike epiphany" while laying in bed last night. I was thinking how this diet is like a long bike ride. . . peddaling is the effort you need to put into it. When you start out you need to peddal, its not too hard though, your excited and your body (mind) is fresh. Some days are like coasting . . . your still on that bike, riding away, but its easy - so your coasting. Then some days you want to go faster, so you push yourself and pedal harder . . . and it's fun and you feel good about yourself. Then other days you hit a hill, or you have to ride against the wind . . . and you have to pedal HARD to stay on that bike. But even though it's hard, it's alot easier to keep peddaling then to have to stop (or worse fall off) and try to start back up again on that hill. And if you guys have ever stopped on a bike half-way up a steep hill, and tried starting up again . . . well you know its Hard (and wobbley). THEN . . . (I'm almost done here) . . . there are days when your legs start getting tired, and that makes it hard to pedal too. To me the hills are like the outside obsticals that make peddaling difficult (stress from work, outside temptation, whatever) and the sore muscles and fatigue are like the inner obsticals we face (when we get tired, frusterated, depressed, or just feel bad about ourselves).

I was trying to decide last night whether or not I would post my little analogy or just keep it to myself, because I thought it might sound kinda stupid and not make any sense. But there it is anyway . . . figured I'd throw it out there.

Have a great day everyone . . . and sorry about the spelling mistakes (how do you spell peddaling anyway???)

Hey I have a great idea, why don't you get up in the morning and start the STAC roll call.
Go to thread button at the top and click it, and then in the subject line write "Roll Call 11/16...
then type something like this, give us a little something to chew on besides FOOOD...tell us about that bike riding again...
I think you should take it and run with it tomorrow, are you game, will you do it???
You've got an ability here! Let me know...I might disappear for a while and wait you out!

                      Good morning!

I had made a promise to post on this board every single day as a means of keeping myself accountable. This is day #3, and I'm doing great. Felt a little sluggish yesterday afternoon, but drank more water and it really seemed to help.

I hope this is ok -- pork rinds have become my best friend. I have 5 or 6 mid morning and the same mid afternoon. After dinner, I take 5 or 6 of them and drizzle melted butter on them, then sprinkle with cinnamon and splenda. Yummy!!!

I've already lost 4 pounds, but will use the official total at the end of week one, since I know that weight fluctuates from day to day.

I hope everybody has a great day!

Good morning everyone! Official weigh in 289.5. Woo hoo down 11.5 pounds this week. What a motivation! I know the loss will not be as great next week but it sure feels good to drop a chunk off the bat. Now I will increase the excersise more this week with my walking work out tape at least 5 times this week for 30 minutes. I'm still filling out my journal on Fit Day which has been a big help.
                          On my way!

Hi, all!! As I was reading, I reached over for my glass of water. Guess what? EMPTY!!!
Great day to start the day. More than half we on my water and it's barely lunch. Still going. Staying on track but not ready for bike riding. I have a nice shiny new one sitting in my garage I just haven't been able to bring myself to get on it. I'll work on it.
