  • reflections from a quiet weekend.

Good morning STACers...It's saturday. I am up early and relaxed. Getting ready to go jog on the treadmill across the street. Adding depth to my exercise plan, so I have a few options as the weather continues to limit me at times. Jogging is hard for me. It seems to take so much more effort than biking does.

I have been reading about Ketosis and how the body functions well on a fat burning metabolism. I feel that higher functioning body...I feel better than I have felt in years. I am still at the same weight for about a week now. That's ok, because I am sure with TOM so close, and that jogging I am holding alot of water...Some days I can't wait to be at the 50 pounds down place and at other times its' sooo not about the weight any more...The lifestyle and peace with food has filled my needs. I don't live for thin, I live for self control, discipline and restoration of trust in myself. I needed those more than anything. I am an addict, I truly am. I lost all self respect. Slowly I am restoring life to myself. The weight is not half as important as my need to be under control (not controlling)... free to not be consumed by wishing I were able to get control, wishing I were able to keep my word to myself, wishing I were a different person...Well slowly those wishes are turning to hard won realities.
Very hard won, nothing given away freely, no door prizes...Hopefully the self respect will be a prize I will not throw away lightly this time. Jan. 1 2007 is coming, it's my next day to work towards. I want to see this next year as a stronger woman. The first quarter of the new year holds huge tasks, great opportunities, and growth beyond what I am use to. That all starts Jan 3rd.
So, every day is totally important...Building a lifestyle to support me in the first quarter is key to my success at that time!

Hope your long weekend and holiday time is good.

    Hello Jess, Hello STAC

Jess--I am so proud of you for broadening your exercise habits. Changing it up and challenging your body in new ways is how you see great results...keep up with it, miss thang!

Well it's a snowy Saturday morning here in Montana...it snowed yesterday, it snowed this morning, it's going to snow tomorrow and it's going to snow Monday. OOOOH KEEP YOUR FINGERS CROSSED FOR A SNOW DAY! I'm 25, and I still love snow days! My muscles are sore from that new training program the PT gave me...but I love that feeling. I have not worked that hard in ages...and I know it will yield results. However, the down side of that is that I feel about 973 years old today, and my poor muscles are hanging on to some water...but I will keep myself hydrated and flush out the demons.

So I'm sitting here eating a piece of this cheesecake for breakfast...BEFORE Atkins I would have devoured it already, gone back for seconds, and searched for something else sweet to eat along with it. But now I am taking small bites, really stretching it (not intentionally either) and making it last...I've been eating this thing for about 15 minutes. This is amazing. I'm agreeing with Joy on this one...how could anyone possibly HATE a WOE that lets you eat cheesecake...for breakfast, if you want it?!?!??!

I just have to say this. There are a TON of wonderful people here, hundreds of inspiring stories. I've only been here a few days but I've been reading them and hope to get through a lot more soon.

But the two of you are such an inspiration. Your posts never fail to give me a little prod when I'm starting to feel a little overwhelmed by all this... which is about 167 times a day today.

Oh yes!!! I like Winter's choice in weight loss tickers...

You know Jess, you're getting sneaky with these STAC check-ins...giving them fancy names...it takes a dolt like me longer to find it because it doesn't say "________check-in"

Dragonflymoon called em, ROLL CALL...and had people sign up!
Usually Monday through Friday I call it check in...and in the last 10 days I have taken on additional responsibilities, and often am not the first one in here...and well Juli, why don't you start tomorrows??? Where is Chris, I liked when He started it, and where is Pstansel??? I miss him...
It's tough being all the way on the east coast, and up at 5:30 with nowhere to go!
