Hey STACers, and all the NEWBIES...It's friday...I was exercising this morning thinking of that "newbie rush" that comes at the end of the first week, when we get into ketosis and the energy is finally coming, and we start to perk up and feel fantastic...It's like totally unbelievable that we could feel soooo good!!!
We clean out closets and kitchens and paint rooms...We are not as hungry and we are almost untouchable!!!!
Deep down we are pleased we have found control again. Our mood is soaring and then we STEP ON THE SCALES...one of two things happen, we either feel elated or disappointed! The pounds lost is either more or less than expected.
I want to encourage you here. I've been here going on 8 months. I came to loose weight and do all things Atkins. But the farther along I got, I realized how important it is to create habits, routines and a lifestyle, rather than shoot LOW and JUST GO FOR WEIGHT LOSS. You know and I know, if we don't create a way of living, even tho Atkins works, we are going to GAIN IT ALL BACK AGAIN...The trick isn't short term behavior modification, it's long term completely new behaviors we can live by...
From the get go Sillygirl say, don't worry about the weight, it will melt off, it will come off, it will soon be gone, just focus on what you are doing...She was right...
Aim higher than pounds lost, look at the life you are gaining! Create reasonable habits you can maintain. I exercised an hour today, built up over time, I could no more have done what I did today other than to build it up over time.
People FACTOR TIME AND PATIENCE INTO THIS WHOLE PROCESS....Or you will quit out of frustration and impatience. It can only go as fast as your body allows weight loss to go...Work with your bodies! They know better than we do!

Had a bit of a rough go of it with the school stress and the boy stress but now I'm back on track. Visiting a friend for a couple of weeks to get me out of the stress zone, and i've been working hard, eating well, and sleeping well. Having fun too, which is always nice!
