  • 12 carbs for the day

and I felt like I ate Alot...I went to the fitday thingy and entered in everything I had eaten for the day and the total was 12...I know that my body will start turning on me and stall if I don't get that number up...I am just absolutely not hungry...should I worry or just add a little more veggies? I seem to eat the veggies with the lowest carb count...
I bought some black olives today and some differant kinds of cheeses in hopes of giving the good carbs a little boost...

You won't necessarily stall from eating 12g carbs as long as your calories are ok. Umm, you *are* eating your 2c salad veggies, and 1c other veggies? I'm assuming you're on induction?? If you're higher, it's really easy to find extra carbs.

yes I am on extended induction...probably for a while... I have quite a bit to lose...I had 1152 calories today...so I am guessing I should be ok...Thank you for the helpful info...most days I can get most of the veggies in...but today...I really struggled...I love veggies...but I just couldn't hardly make myself eat today

I think I am going to start eating 1 cup salads during the day instead of trying to get a 2 cup salad down at lunch and then the 1 cup other veggie at supper...maybe that will help...Thanks again hun

Re: 12 carbs for the day

It usually helps to keep them spread out through the day instead of all in one shot... As a side note, moving on to OWL won't necessarily slow down your loss, and sometimes will actually improve, but if you're fine with sticking with induction and the options you have there, then keep it up. Good Luck!!

When I did Atkins the first time I moved onto the next phase after being stalled for 3 wks. Just adding berries w/ cream as a treat each day gave me the boost and I started losing again.

I would say if you are getting in enough calories and you are losing consistently each week then don't worry about it. Just spread your veggies out if you are struggling to get them in by the end of the day. Instead of using them at mealtimes, cut up some salad veggies for snack and eat them with cheese and protien. Or try celery with cream cheese and some 0 deli meat like turkey or roast beef on top.

I am on day 7 of my Re-Induction and all week I barely got above 12-13 carbs but I am getting in the requirement on veggies and losing a 1lb a day so I think I am doing ok. If you start to stall you might want to re examine and push the carbs up a little higher.

Re: 12 carbs for the day

Yup, those black olives are pretty salty!

During induction I usually only ate about 15g of carbs per day. The LIMIT is 20, and if you eat fewer, that's fine, as long as you've eaten your three cups of veggies. Since you're allowed one cup of "other" veggies, try experimenting with some new ones or different preparation techniques. My favorite "other" veggies are pumpkin (mixed with cream cheese, cinnamon and sweetener), spaghetti squash, cauliflower (I bake it with mayo/mustard, bacon, and cheese YUMMM!), asparagus, and string beans.

As for spreading veggies out, I used to have a hard time eating veggies at breakfast. You could make omelets with veggies, but I didn't really dig this either. So I'll cut a bell pepper (usually red or orange, yum!) into strips, and eat those along with my breakfast, or have warm pumpkin--it's so good, it tastes like dessert! There's also a great recipe on Linda's site for "fried apples" using chayote squash. If you limit the splenda and cut the molasses, it's induction-legal.

I tried the loaded califlower the other night and that stuff rocked...will be using it again and often...lol
I was to worried about the pumpkin and spaghetti squash but I love them both...and the baked asparagus was really good to...
I also have a hard time eating veggies and any kind of fish for breakfast...not sure what it is...but the fish is just not a breakfast food to me...lol
I guess I just thought I had to have as close to 20 a day that I could get...I will worry lots less knowing I'm not in this boat alone...
                    Thanks again everyone

You're trying to eat fish for breakfast? No offense, but YUK!

You can eat whatever you want off of the acceptable foods list. You don't have to eat breakfast foods for breakfast or dinner foods for dinner. On induction, my favorite dinner was an omelette with bacon.

I can't imagine eating it either, except maybe Salmon Patties. Canned salmon made with egg sauteed in Olive oil w/ a lil bit garlic salt. I think I could eat those anytime. lol

I just found a can of Pumpkin in my cupboard...I can't wait to try it later. Never would have thunk it. lol

Hi MissMel! Just a reminder to make sure it's just plain pumpkin and not the pie mix with all the other stuff added.

                            Its Libby's 100% pumpkin...net carbs of 4 per 1/2 cup serving.

Is their a brand out there that is lower?
