    Good morning my fellow STACer's,

    Well today is the middle of the week. The sun is hiding and the rain is absolutely pouring down. That gives a moment to mention, labels.

    Make sure that you are reading your labels, when purchasing foods. If you buy regular bacon, or sausage, or pepperoni, be very careful. In Indiana, I have yet to find one of those items that do not have a)sugar b)corn syrup c)corn syrup solids etc. I take that back, I have found a bacon, at walmart PLUMROSE, and it says right on the package NOT CURED WITH SUGAR.

    These products carry so much hidden sugar sometimes, you're fighting an uphill battle. Same thing with Deli meats, they mostly all have sugar. I've found a few, South Beach acceptable, that are low in sugar, but I have never used them. Processed foods are to be used as a last resort.

    I've even been reading some posts where people think it's acceptable to run into a quick stop/gas station and buy beef jerky or slim jims......YIKES!!! Do you realize that those products have fructose, mytose, yourtose, sugar, cornsyrup, brown sugar, ewww, might as well eat a snickers!!!! (okay....maybe thats a bit drastic...thanks Sheepie! haha)

    If you want Beef Jerky, make your own! It's absolutely delicious! Same with sausage, but ground pork and make your own, it's only seasonings and it takes 1 minute to do. Anytime I can eat something gourmet, that I make, I jump on it!

    You have to really think before you open that box or can, read those labels, and make sure that what your about to eat isn't chocked full of hidden sugars! Be wary of processed foods! Yuck!!!!

    My two cents for the day! Hopefully it won't rain all day, and the sun will shine! Everybody have a wonderful day....

    Focus!! Goals!! Exercise!! Water!! Low Carbn'!! All the way!! Motivation!!

    I'm here! I know that meat snacks can be tricky, but if you're determined to buy something no matter what, if you choose carefully, I still think they're a better choice than a Snickers! Yucky, sweet, repulsive, disgusting Snickers! Blech! LOL!
    Made cheesy mashed cauliflower here last night. Cut up the whole head and cooked it in my pressure cooker....4.5 minutes at full pressure. Perfect. Even my 2yr old loved it. Much better than a nasty old Snickers!

      Happy Wednesday! I'm not feeling very confident today for some reason. Having a few little personal problems and I feel fat and ugly. I'm hoping it improves as the day moves forward, but I'm really struggling.

      Got on the scales this morning (I need to DITCH them) and gained a .5 lb! I know I shouldn't be a slave to it and I think it's making my mood a little worse. I'm gonna stick to it...don't have a desire to eat any junk, etc. but I'm in a funk.

      Sorry to be a downer, but I feel I can be honest here if no where else. I do hope everyone has a successful Atkins day.

          Good Morning Everyone, just checking in with you all. Not much going on in my world, right now just taking it one day at a time, so far so good with excercising this week. Its also that tom and i dont have any cravings so i must be doing something right, this is day three eating clean but have not changed no colors on the keto strips, but i think my body is finally detoxed from all the junk. WEll i hope everyone has a great day and i will check in later.

            Huggija, I hope your day turns around and turns out better than you expect. Personal problems can certainly put a damper on the day and remember scales don't just weigh fat, they weigh water too, so don't let a little bloat get you down.

              OK why is it that i eat pretty much the same thing day in and out and this morning my ketone strip fell to trace after it has been in the high range for 4 days now? Im not frustrated just perplexed. Other than that its another rainy day in Cleveland. Oh and i lied yesterday. I said i was going to focus on water intake and didnt drink a drop. Ill try again today. Hope everbody has a stress free day.

                Good Morning All...well yesterday I finally made it...I walked 1 mile...I felt like Superwoman...
                granted it was a 30 minute mile...but I figure a mile is a mile and part of it was up hill...enough to make my legs burn and get my heart thumpin...all while pushin my 1yr old in a stroller and with my talkin my ear off 9yr old in tow...lol in the rain...but they stayed in the van with daddy during the hard rain...they were both itchin to get out so bad, that I let them when it was just spittin rain, they BOTH LOVED IT!

                  Morning everyone! Having a good week so far after the mess up in my eating on Sunday. I just need to get my butt back to the gym SOON!!! Drank my gallon of water yesterday and will attempt to do the same today, only downfall is lots of bathroom trips..lol.

                  Hey Huggija hang in there I have days like that too and as far as the scale thing goes I used to get on it everyday sometimes twice a day, but have since broken the habit and get on it once a week sometimes once every two weeks so that I don't get bummed out if weight my weight goes down and them up a little.

                    Good morning everyone! I made it cheat free through Day 1 yesterday. I really wanted something sweet last night, but resisted all the temptations. Instead I finished re-reading DANDR for the umpteenth time. My visit to the cardiologist went very well, and I'm pumped and ready to do this! On pay day I'm going to go join the Y and talk my daughter, who just had a baby in January (my first grandchild, Justin!) into joining with me. Hopefully together we can help each other stick with it. My goal for the day is to drink at least a gallon of water. Hope everyone has a great day!

                        Scooterjam, I have a dehydrator (love "sun" dried tomatoes) and have used it in the past to make jerky, but I used the seasoning packet that I'm sure is full of suger. Good idea, though, will have to make some with my own seasoning. I've never made sausage, although it sounds easy. Do you have any recipes to share?

                          I've been away from the boards for a while. I've been sick and so has my daughter. I was craving carbs during the illness but hubby kept me strong!

                          I decided that letting caffine (Diet Coke) back in my life was a bad thing so I kicking that habit, again, today. Maybe that's why I'm out of ketosis.

                          No wieght gains or loses and I'm ok with that. I haven't seen this weight in years so I'm happy hanging out here for a while.

                            Sheepie--I have a recipe posted called "spicy beef jerky" you should be able to find it by doing a search. It's very spicy and VERY addictive!!!

                            Well I certainly did NOT dress for the weather today! I should have looked outside before I chose my clothing. It's snowing! I thought it was supposed to be spring! Oh well. Live and learn, huh?

                            Today should be a good day, parent-teacher conferences went well last night, but left me very tired. Tonight I'm going to be energized...hopefully...I've got kickboxing class!
