Hi Lisa, and morning to all other STAC's. Almost finished induction and weigh day is tomorrow. I'm so proud of myself, that I've managed to stay away from the scales for the two weeks. Lets hope they reward me with a big number tomorrow morning!

      Re: Sunday check in

Thanks for starting the thread Lisa.. I have been sitting here thinking of how I could start it..lol

I read somewhere on here that someone had a chocolate mousse that was induction friendly...I can't find it on Linda's site...

I had a great day yesterday...took my daughter shopping for summer clothes. Want to know why we women get so depressed.. Its the STUPID designers making these clothes.. My daughter is 104lbs! She is tiny.. But what size clothes did she buy yesterday.. a 3-shorts a 8-bathing suit and a 9-shorts Now who can wear that huge of a difference in sizes?

But my daughter said.. Mom won't you be happy when you can by regular clothes.. and OH YES I WILL

We went to Red Lobster for Dinner and I had NO desire to eat those cheddar biscuits. I left there feeling full and not stuffed. I asked the waitress (who was my niece) to bring only 1 cheddar biscuit.. She brought 2 little ones for my daughter who ate them both..lol

One good thing I don't feel guilty asking if I can have something different besides the Potato at first I did. But I keep telling myself I have a health problem and eating that would be bad for my health

So on to another good day I don't know why but this time around I am so much stronger....

Good job at Red Lobster Sandy! Those cheddar biscuits are hard to pass up!

Today is my first day to move on to OWL and of course I'm nervous as all getout. The last time I did Atkins and succeeded in reaching my goal weight, I stayed on Induction for about 7 weeks. It caused a few cheats, even though I still got to my goal, I don't want to do that this time so I'm making myself move on. It's not a race, right?!

Hope everyone has a great Sunday, dh is out getting me some bacon right now as I'm tired of sausage lol! My little goal this week is to not drink any shakes.....I need to not rely on those in the morning.

Hi Sandy - yes I feel so much better. In control for the first time in a long time! I feel I'm being honest for the first time ever. Last time I did Atkins I looked at this site a few times, but didnt post, cos I was embarrased to post my weight etc. How silly is that? We're all in the same boat together, working towards the same goal. This time, I've 'gotten over myself' so to speak, and its as if somethings clicked! I'll check in tomorrow on roll call and let you know how I've done in induction. No matter what the scales say, I'm sticking with this woe. I really believe in it and myself.

Know what you mean about clothes sizes! I have to try everything on now, can't just pick up my normal size, as it varys from shop to shop so much! not good for teenages though, who can be sensitive about sizes and weights.

              Re: Sunday check in

              Good morning, all!

It's cloudy but nice and warm here. I got out at 6:30 and did my bike ride before the winds pick up. Besides, I've been waiting to do this for a looooonnnng time now and it was great! Hope other's mornings are as nice as it is here.

Lisa, the sizing of clothes is crazy. One size 24 is too big, the other size 24 is too small... All I know is that some day, I won't be in size 20's, in the larger women's section and will hopefully wearing a 14 or smaller. It used to bother me years ago to be in a 14 but I look back at a certain picture and wonder what in the world was I stressing about. I looked healthy! Want to get there again.

Sandy, I'll see if I can't find that recipe. Someone else mentioned it, it sounded good to me for a reward after the Veggie Challenge so I want it, too. Way to go at Red Lobster! You can really get their attention about the potatoes by telling them you're fighting off diabetes...which we are!

Off to the store for groceries. Have a great day, everyone!

Terry... You know when someone ask why I can't have something.. I just say I am fighting diabetes...lol Especially strangers.. I don't feel like saying I am on a low-carb diet or Atkins.. Because they don't question it if its diabetes...

Thanks for the recipe..that looks yummy... I went to the site and didn't see it.. That will be a treat later on when I am way further down the road

                    Hello all!

Not much planned for today. My boyfriend and I are going to do some cleaning around the house, and I'm going for a long run today...not sure how long, but at least 6 miles, I'd say. I got over a foot of my hair chopped off yesterday, and I'm still getting used to it. Part of me wants to weigh just to see if I've lost any "weight" but I think that would be cheating.

                    Have a great Sunday, STACers!

                      Re: Sunday check in

Sandy -- I went to Red Lobster yesterday, too. I had Snow and King crab legs with butter. Yum! Didn't seem very diety! Also, I have a recipe for chocolate mousse that is amazing! I don't know that it is Induction friendly, though. I has 6-7 grams of carbohydrates per serving. I bring this to every family holiday and office pot luck, even when I am not on Atkins...

Sugar-Free Chocolate Mousse To Die For!

1 package (4 serv size) chocolate sugar free instant pudding mix
1 package (about 10 oz) soft tofu
1 heaping tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
1/4-1/2 teaspoon instant coffee (more if you like mocha flavoring)
1 to 1-1/2 cups heavy cream, chilled

                      1. Use an electric mixer to beat the pudding mix, tofu, cocoa powder & coffee crystals until very smooth. (I always beat the tofu by itself first, then add all the other ingredients. Otherwise I find it is very lumpy. Still tastes wonderful and feels smooth while you are eating, but doesn't look nearly as pretty)

                      2. In a separate bowl, whip the cream until it is about stiff.

                      3. Turn the mixer to its lowest setting, blend in the pudding mixture and turn off the mixer -- quickly. If you over-beat, you'll end up with chocolate butter.

I always make this with the larger amount of cream -- it makes it very light and fluffy. I have a hard time finding 10 oz tofu packages, mine are 12 oz, so I usually add one extra packet of Splenda to the tofu at the beginning.

With the 1-1/2 cups of cream there are 7 servings, with 7.5 grams of carbs and just under one gram of fiber and 4 grams of protein.

You can also make this recipe Vanilla by using Vanilla pudding and a teaspoon of vanilla extract. Omit the cocoa and coffe crystals. The carbs work out about the same.

Today is my weigh in day! I'm down another 3 pounds. I also met my personal exercise goals this week -- 6 - 1 hour sessions on my elliptical machine and 6 - 20 minute Pilates videos. My goal for next week is to continue with the elliptical 5-7 times per week for one hour each session & 3-4 times do my 60 minute Pilates video, 2-4 times do my 20 minute Pilates video (total of 5-7 Pilates workouts). I think this will be hard for me. The 20 minute video is fairly easy. The hour long one is a killer!

I had to dig for that recipe; it's a no wonder you didn't find it, being buried in with another one. The one annRN posted here looks good, too.

That's funny how you already use the diabetes as an excuse! It depends on if I feel feisty or not. I love arguing with others who think this is a no-vegetable, no fruit, no-grain WOE. Even with my dietician, who said we can't be living without that stuff forever. YA THINK??! It's the sugars, flours, poison oils, etc., that I'm not going to eat anymore... She was surprised to here me say I eat more vegetables now than ever - and that was before I realized I'm STILL not eating enough of them! HA!

                              Good Morning all,

I was actually going to start this thread earlier, but I got caught up in playing with this new software that I downloaded a trial version of, it's called 'Weight-by-date Pro 2.95. I absolutly love it and am going to buy it when the trial version (free, lol) is up (15 days). I even had the dh call me from wal-mart this morning to give me the nutritional info on the bacon we got the other day so I could plug it into the data base, lol, he is so patient with me. I fry alot of bacon at once and had thrown out the package with out writing the data down. <bad Di, bad>

I am READY for that veggie challenge too.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend!
