    Re: Sunday check in

Good morning all! It's a beautiful, warm, sunny day today and being outside is the plan! Spent a good part of yesterday at the park playing with my son and today looks like more of the same. My parents are BBQ-in' for my birthday today, so we'll be over there for some yummy steaks.

Hope everyone has a GREAT day!

Good morning, y'all! Great job to everyone this week! Day 7 for me. Today is beautiful in VA and going to get outside for some recreation! Walked 2 miles yesterday and will try for the same today. My legs are sore but can't tell if that's from the walking or from a lack of potassium. Anyone had the same problem?

I was afraid that I would never be able to drink enough water, so one of my goals this week was to work my way up to 100 oz. I started at the beginning of the week with about 30. Yesterday I had 91 oz! YAY! So today the goal is to drink 100.

Sandy - The recipe I used for the mousse was this:

        1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
        1 packet splenda
        1.5 teaspoons cocoa powder

I whipped the cream, then mixed in the splenda and cocoa. It is induction friendly and had a net carb total of 3. It was just enough to make me feel better about having chocolate again!!

        Everyone have a blessed day!

Good Morning staying off the scale for as long as I can stand it, it gave me a good number this morning and I do not want to see that go back up like it usually does, its evil I tell you, teases me and goes up 2 so when It showed me a happy number I immediately jumped off had tuna/mayo for breakfast and am staying far away for as long as I can, haha probably about 2 days. Yummy red lobster had cod and vegies last time I was there de-lish. New fav out is Texas Roadhouse grilled chicken salad. Lots of errands to do today, keep up the good work. cya later

            HAPPY BIRTHDAY HEATHER!!!

We went to the amusement park this morning and got about an hour total (between rides etc) of brisk walking in. I tried to get my 7 or 6 year olds on the little kiddie coaster and they still won't go for it lol - no fun!!

              Happy Birthday Heather!

Went to church this morning. Here's a silly little thing I've been doing. I decided that when I kneel in church, I'll do it the right way and get my lazy behind off the pew and keep my back straight. The first couple of Sundays my legs shook, but now I don't see what the big deal was! Little things, but they count too.

Happy Sunday to everyone! Day 5 for me...cheat free. TOM came early so I can tell I'm bloaty so I will stay away from the scale. Hopefully now my hunger will go down a bit and this constant headache will stop. Still waiting for ketosis to kick in. I am going to clean my house and go to the mall to pick up a few things and come back and start planning some meals for the work week coming up. I'm happy to read all your post, very encouraging and coming here daily to check in holds me to some accountability.

                Thanks everyone!

Today is my weigh in day! I'm down another 3 pounds. I also met my personal exercise goals this week -- 6 - 1 hour sessions on my elliptical machine and 6 - 20 minute Pilates videos. My goal for next week is to continue with the elliptical 5-7 times per week for one hour each session & 3-4 times do my 60 minute Pilates video, 2-4 times do my 20 minute Pilates video (total of 5-7 Pilates workouts). I think this will be hard for me. The 20 minute video is fairly easy. The hour long one is a killer!
I know isn't it sinful to eat seafood dipped in butter..YUM...lol

Thanks for the recipe.. I will use it when I need a dessert somewhere...

Great Job on the 3lbs off woo hoo and all that exercise!

That's funny how you already use the diabetes as an excuse! It depends on if I feel feisty or not. I love arguing with others who think this is a no-vegetable, no fruit, no-grain WOE. Even with my dietician, who said we can't be living without that stuff forever. YA THINK??! It's the sugars, flours, poison oils, etc., that I'm not going to eat anymore... She was surprised to here me say I eat more vegetables now than ever - and that was before I realized I'm STILL not eating enough of them! HA!
LOL..this group that I am in doing email with.. we have been friends for years...over 7 and one of them throws off on Atkins all the time.. this other girl knows that I am following it.. So on that group I just my program.. Because I don't want to fight with her.. I am eating more and more veggies this way and believe me it was all carbs when I was doing Weight watchers

It was for me, too. I started Atkins and was going through the "induction flu" without realizing it but was still losing well. Switched to WW, and the weight loss just about came to a screeching halt. Went back on Atkins eating more veggies and the first week, 6# came off. Flipped some of my co-workers right out.

ANYway, I looked at the number of carbs I was taking in with the low-fat diet, and holy smokes! I had my chicken points in but some days the carbs were over 100. And talk about feel like crap. I just can't eat that way. Low- or no-fat foods tastes like yick and, like my mom, am sensitive to some of the manufactured chemicals in our foods and products.

Oh, yah, I did the same thing on Weight Watcher's. And I was OBSESSED with food. That's all I did was watch the clock all day --- "One more hour and then I can eat two points". Totally didn't work for me and I was ALWAYS starving. My best friend does Weight Watcher's and has had great success with losing and maintaining her weight, though. I think it is all about finding the right fit and still making healthy food choices.
