  • Friday Roll Call

    Ok, so I'm up early! I am so impressed with STAC now, it's like thriving! What makes it thrive for you? Is it the new relationships? Daily roll call, sharing the journey? Why do you come here and what do you receive?

    Where can you pay it forward? Im always looking for ways to shift from being a consumer to a producer. I come here and pep talk everyone, but really I'm pep talking myself, creating words and atmosphere to surround my daily efforts in.

    I want to be here! In a year, on my anniv. I want to be thriving on this way of life in good times and hard hard times...i want to eat right in my life and live it right.
    I am doing what I wanted to do ! I celebrate that with you today!

    I come to STAC and thrive on sharing success and progress with all my STAC friends! I gain my strength in the plan from coming here and posting each day. When I receive a PM or EMAIL from a STAC member saying 'Thank You' it makes me want to succeed even more.

    I have said many times, that I love this board, and wouldn't be sitting here 77 pounds lighter if it wasn't for the love and support that I get here. Believe me, I've had my ups and downs, my own inner demons and that caffiene monster bites really really hard, but I come here each and every day to start the day by saying good morning or hello to all my wonderful STACer's.

    I suppose I'll continue to do so, until someone says 'Scooter - we're sick of you...haha) (By the way....please don't say that....lol......)

    I thrive each day by knowing I'm following plan, I'm still losing weight, I stay focused and determined and want to share that with anyone I can!!

    What makes you thrive each day STACer's??

      I come here because this is the most encouraging board I have been too.. There is this other board that really makes you feel bad if you say.. I can't do this..... This board trys to motivate you to not giving in.. The other board would say Its your choice.. I don't think people should be babied. But when you are in this program we all need encouragement. As you know I have had a couple of down days.. But more UP days and I encourage others. Especially us women with our hormone swings ...lol Even if someone breaks down and eats the wrong thing.. everyone encourages them to get on track and not let one food ruin what they have accomplished.

      So on that note.. I am down another pound this morning.. I will be out of town again this weekend.. Leaving this afternoon and will be home late Sunday night. Where I will be it will be hard to eat right but I am going to do it. Doesn't help that my teeth are hurting and I can hardly eat and will go to the dentist on Monday when I get back.

      I went to a local restaurant last night and had Grilled Flounder.. It had a Herb and Garlic sauce but I asked them to put in on the side.. That Grilled fish was so good... I asked the waitress what the vegetable of the day was and she said Corn.. I said tell the cook corn is a starch and not a vegetable..lol So I told her I just wanted Salad.. she gave me two side Salads...lol So far everywhere that I have eaten have given me what I want.. Like at Ruby Tuesday's.. I was having Steak and it came with a veggie and a potato. They gave me double Veggie instead of the potato. What is really weird is that I can resist the bread now.. It doesn't even bother me

      Have a great weekend everyone! Its rainy today but I needed that pollen washed off my car but its suppose to be a nice weekend

        I thrive on not being hungry. I know that is a repeating theme with me, but after starving myself for soooo long and getting nowhere it's just such a joy. I no longer eye the clock to see how long before I can eat again. Now I just eye it waiting to see who will start the roll call.

        And coming here is wonderful, the camaraderie is so much help and it's fun too. I still get a chuckle out of picturing Scooter trying to take the scales away from Joy.

        You guys are the best.

            Good Morning Everyone, oh goodness, this board has been my strength. I come here everyday for inspiration, even those days where i did not do well on plan, I would come here and read to get back on track. I feel as though we are a family here, we all go through challenges but we help each other through those challenges. I feel if it was not for this board many of us would not be as successful!!!

              If I were the only person in the world trying to live this way, it would be so hard to keep it up, but in reality, it doesn't matter whether or not anyone else around me is following this woe (but dh is) because I know I have a whole army of you behind me. It makes the battle that much easier, knowing that we're all in this together. Besides, Jess is inspirational, Scooter is cute (okay inspirational too), Joy is funny, Sandy always has a new occasion to face, Lisa's smile is contageous...I could go on and on...everyone here has their own personality and is so nice and fun to be around!

                  LOL.. I had to laugh at I have a New Occasion to face.. It seems like it doesn't it?...lol But I am beating all those occasions.. I only have 4 years left to deal with this...Before My kids are all adults

                    You know one thing I like.. Is seeing my BMI go down.. Without me having to get up and search for it.. What is considered a Healthy BMI?

                      This is what I gathered from here and figured out my own weights for each.

                        If you don't mind, I'd like to join in...

                        I'm not new to Atkins, and have fallen off the apple wagon cart as it made a sharp left turn instead of the right one. But I did jump back on 2 weeks ago and have been "lurking" the board since.

                        What's made me thrive? Well, it's kind of a full basket, really. The people here share their ups and downs, all arounds, and pictures to prove success. Those are the things that help me make it through the tough moments so when the wagon decides to try to turn left, I'll be leaning to the right to make that wide turn to stay on track.

                        Thanks for sharing. Please keep it up!

                          Morning, Having a place to check in and get ideas from other peeps and how they are doing. Once in a while I come accross something interesting or something I think would be helpful to others and I put that in here. If I relate to something someone has posted I reply and give encouragement. Thats kind of scarey tho someone will probably tell me I have no business giving ideas one of these days and I will go back to just reading, that has not happened so I will continue to stick my head out of my shell for a while. It gets easier and easier to post.

                            Lordy, you guys are up EARLY!

                            -I thrive on hearing my students say, "Val, you look great! What have you been doing?"
                            -I thrive on having lots of choices at restaurants and making smart decisions about my food. (Like two nights ago I took my students to Chili's and I asked the waiter to send my salad back because it had crispy chicken and not grilled.)
                            -I thrive on the moment at the end of the day when I finally have drunk all my water.
                            -And I thrive on knowing my clothes are getting looser!

                            A little less than 2 weeks on Induction and I have lost 5.6 pounds! Feelin' good. Off to make breakfast.

                              The thing to remember is not that you fell off the apple cart, but that you climbed back on..that's the important part.

                              We all fall off, we dust ourselves off, come here, get encouragement and climb back on.
