      HI! I am logging in late but just want to say "ditto" to what everyone else has been saying. I love this board...It really keeps me motivated.


      BTW Can we have pickles on induction?

        Good Friday afternoon all! I come here because I don't think I could do this without all of your support and encouragment. Maybe I'm not giving myself enough credit, but it helps so much to have this board to come too. I remember once, a couple years ago, the entire board went down for like a whole day! Holy crap, I freaked out! What in the world would I do without my dear ADBB?! It was back up the next morning, but just those few hours without it were like torture! It's like a family here. I love it.


        By the way, I feel fabulous today! Thanks for all the encouragement everyone!

          On my lunch and checking in, hope you guys don't forget about us late comers. Jess asked what makes it thrive for us....well for me, it's all of you. Everyone is different and has their own unique take on things and I value everyone's opinion. Everyone has something of value to offer and I enjoy reading them ALL. So, Speedy, I'll never ask to shut up...lol..not me ....
          I can really relate to what most of you write most all the time, like Lucky D,
          wow, been there, still do that some days....

          Congrats to Valerie, and to Julie, and to Sandy for losing those pounds, and to anyone else who has lost recently. Good job! Welcome Apple and Arkiematt.

            I am really shy about putting pictues of myelf on the internet but i went ahead and did so in the pics section. only face shots because all of the recent pictures of me are with my ex, therefore gone forever. i will work on getting some full body shots and keeping up to date with them.

              It was rechecking my vision. My new glasses still aren't strong enough for distance. Turns out it's due to having vision in only one eye. What appears to be good in the office isn't good enough in the real world. People with two eyes have both of them working together; when one is weak, the other compensates. Ol' One-Eyed Jackie here doesn't have that option. So the prescription has to be tweaked up a bit.

                  Thanks but it's ok. Left eye has a birth defect so it's never been useful. I've got the prescription but am trying some eyedrops first before I take these back in. Not holding my breath because I've used these in the past. But I said I'd try. They're going back Monday fer sure! Just trying to get used to the fact that at this age, they're going to keep getting worse and I just need to adapt more than ever. (LARGE PRINT, ANYONE?!!)

                  I'm outta here! Gotta do another bike ride and make my gut flatter like Tracie's...

                      I'm having my Friday cravings (well, should say HABIT) for chicken enchiladas, chips and queso from our usual weekend takeout place......the habit is so hard to break!

                      Any ideas to quell this need?

                            Good idea! And oooooo so sore - owie! It's my butt and thighs that are killing me. I have to slowly lower myself down into a sitting position anywhere I go and it cracks my kids up! I did better than yesterday though!

                              he he he!! take a long hot bath you deserve it!!

                              Usually if I crave something, I just make it without the bread or whatever it usually calls for Thats all, it will satisfy your craving always, and I know for me as long as I include something that is fatty and rich like sour cream ( I am an addict), I am all set with the breads and rices.

                                i like to make taco salad minus the shell. lettuce a little tomato cheese chicken or ground beef with tons of tobasco sour cream guacamole(sp).....its really good for helping the mexican craving.. almost forgot, habaneros. i like it really hot.
