Re: Saturday check in
tmn--have you used stevia? It is usually sold in health food stores and marketed as a supplement, not a sweetener. It is a plant extract, and usually works well for most people. It is calorie and carb-free. Make sure you buy either the extract (sold in a bottle with a dropper) or the granulated packets. The extract is the best choice, IMO, because the packets contain inulin, a plant fiber that can cause intestinal distress. Just make sure you DON'T buy stevia syrup, as that has corn syrup added.
As for the honey, it has just as much sugar as cane sugar. How much is a little? 1 tablespoon of honey has 17g sugar. It's the same as putting granulated sugar on whatever you're eating. If you are having problems with sweeteners (like cravings) then using honey is NOT a good option. If you have cravings, eliminate artifical sweeteners and honey completely.
SATURDAY--
Well I am down 1/2 pound and 1.5 inches this week. I was hoping for more, but I've been lucky for the past month, losing pounds and inches every single week. Not much planned today--probably some cleaning, and my boyfriend and I are going on a long walk. Later when he goes to work, I'm heading out to the gym to do some strength training and maybe some running.
Have a great day, all!

I hope everybody has a great day!!

(I know, a little rationalization going on... Works great as an antiseptic and cough medicine...) And the situation last night was more "comfort food" mode than cravings. The amount I put in was, oh gosh, about 1/8 teaspoon?? Like one big drop of honey. I can't even say I really tasted the sweetness. (Time to make two mock danishes, one with honey and one without, and do a taste comparison.) Anyway, no cravings otherwise. Just a lot on my mind and heart and those stupid Dairy Queen commercials were not helping at all since they were a huge source of comfort food for me in the past.

It was just an "AHA" moment when I realized that the throat clogginess started back up after eating pizza crust. Maybe that knowledge will help me in the future to stay away from that stuff.

It wasn’t even that good! Ok and a banana right after that and washed it all down with a diet dr pepper.
I will just sit here and eat my hot pumpkin mess and be happy I am so close to my goal weight and not still 190. I am starting my slim in 6 on Monday so maybe that will break my urge to cheat and the wooshie fairy will stop by.
