I am actually amazed that I haven't plateaued yet. I think it is because I am exercising so much, but I know that it is coming sometime. I am still averaging three pound losses per week. Pretty incredible, really. I'm not complaining, just kind of surprised!

I hope all of you moms out there have a nice Mother's Day!

WOO HOO Congratulations on the 3lb loss

It's cool (50's) and sunny here. Better than sweltering heat to sit in the stands!
My 14 year old has insisted he take her shopping for me for the last few years.. If she didn't do it I would receive nothing.. This year though My son drove her so it is nice when they get their licenses.

Sandy, I'm glad you got your grill. We actually got one, too, about a week ago. We have never used a gas grill before; only charcoal. I really do like the way charcoal grilling tastes, but it is such a pain in the a$$ to deal with, so we took the plunge. We have used it a couple of times, and are still trying to get the hang of it. (Some things really do taste different than the way we are used to.)

I wanted to start grilling veggies, so last night I decided to try a new one I had never tried before. So, I bought an eggplant and sliced and grilled it. Oh my , I hated it... I mean, I really hated it. That's OK, though, because I have literally tried over a dozen vegetables in the past 3 weeks that I would have never touched before, and this is the very first one that I had to give a "thumbs down" to. What kind of squash are you going to grill? I have never tasted any other kind besides spaghetti squash, so I am looking forward to branching out. I hear that yellow squash is good grilled. (I just hope it is not spongey, like the eggplant.)

Thanks for reading my ramblings... I haven't had much time this week to check in, so I'm glad you are here!
Hi Mitizi.. YES its yellow squash.. I love them I haven't tried Eggplant myself.. So don't know if I would like it either..

We bbq year round, just make a path in the snow from the house across the deck to the bbq! ha ha. Yummy!
I have both propane and charcoal. I like charcoal but sometimes don't want to wait for the coals to heat up.

About parchment paper again - I love the stuff! Last night, I baked bacon strips in the oven on the paper. They turned out really nice, and easy to remove. Let the grease solidify on the paper and easy throw-away. Clean up was a breeze!

Thanks for the tip.. I wonder if I can find a veggie basket around here..I dont' even know what i would be looking for.. Do you just use regular mustard?

We still use charcoal - mesquite - because I LOVE the taste! Takes longer to heat up, but I like it more than gas.

Matt - YAY for you! Glad you had a great time!

                  Hi Everyone!

Buffy here. Well today in Jacksonville it is cloudy and humid. I live in Ponte Vedra and The Players Championship (golf tournament) is here and there are lots of people/tourists. A little hard to get my errands done. Oh, well.

I walked 4.7miles last night with my Nordic Walking Sticks. I'm really sore today.

Happy Mother's Day to all. I bought my Mom 2 tomato plants and some extra tupperware. We often make meals and trade.

Sandy, you will love your grill. I love to cut up summer squash and zuccini and put them in a roomy foil made pouch with some butter and salt. It is sooo good. the butter is what boils the veggies!

                  Have a great day!

                    Hi Sandy -- great kids!

Shish kabobs with veggies and meat and chicken -- on skewers! Olive oil, lemon juice, parsley, and mint -- middle eastern.

Make a sauce with some sour cream and chopped up cucumbers -- have yours without the pita bread (give that to the others) -- and you've got a lo-carb souvlaki!

Burgers like crazy, and salmon with dill!

Enjoy the grill (and it rhymes).

I don't know why but I had a feeling they wouldn't say anything! Well, we can all notice from your pics, and 18 lbs is so much! Don't you worry, pretty soon that's all people will be saying to you..."wow, how much weight have you lost?!"

They are probably just jealous! Next time maybe you should take a low carb cheesecake or something.

But for now, just think of all those yummy low carb grilled things in your future.
