    Good Monday Morning! (I think) I hope everybody who's been under the weather starts feeling better. I had a lapse yesterday, too. Not going to beat myself up, though. Just going to stay on plan today and not do it again. Did my exercise, drinking my water. Will take my vitamins at lunch.
    10 more days of school here! Awards night for my son tonight. Daughter has science project due tomorrow. Both have jazz band concert tomorrow night. I am so ready for things to slow down a little! At least they are good things we're celebrating.

      Hey!

      I don't have to work today, so I have been able to spend more time on the 'puter today... yay! I thought I would swing back by touch base again.

      I wanted to tell y'all about the Mother's Day card my son made for me in computer class at school. He is in the 5th grade and I am pretty sure that the teachers must think that he has a nut for a mom after reading this card. He got a grade for computer skills on it, so I know that they saw it. It said:

      MOMMY

      My mommy always says many wise things. Some of these are to not do drugs, don't eat yellow snow, don't forget to wipe, only have one kid if you have to, and pop rocks don't mix with coke. I find all of these good advice.

      WHAT?!?! LOL... we live in Lousisana... he's only seen snow once, and it was just a dusting. And, about the only having one kid... I think he got it mixed up... I usually wish a dozen just like him on him. I do get on to him about the wiping, though

      LOL... my little comedian.

        I just now saw that today is Scooter's birthday! I usually don't have the time to wander over to the Chit Chat Forum, but there is a thread there about it. Then, I started thinking about it, and I don't think he checked in here today. Bad Scooter! (just kidding)

                    A Question -- Is Atkins Right For Me?

                    Hi All --


                    Not the morning anymore, but thought I'd check in.

                    Had my first workout at Curves today. I had no clue that it was actually going to FEEL like something. When I went in for the tour, it looked pretty mild. Um... it is definitely going to have a huge impact on me.

                    Today I don't feel very motivated to stay with this. After almost five weeks, there is really no change on the scale... still the same bouncing up and down in a five-pound range. Inches lost, yes, but even my pants still feel tight.

                    What the heck?

                    I have a very fine mentor, a moderator on this board, and she is completely there for me. A real support. But I also know that after the first week on Weight Watchers, I always drop five, and then I always lose consistently, every week, as long as I follow it.

                    Could it be that high protein/low carb is just not for me?
                    Started again: 10 November 2007!

                    No stats for two weeks.

                    If you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you've always gotten...

                      Hi RIMedusa, Sorry to hear you're not feeling too motivated. I hate days like that. I'm sure that if it's a moderator that you have as a mentor, they've given you ideas galore about how to make this woe work for you. I don't know what to say really...I use FitDay to keep track of my veggie carbs, I participate in an exercise challenge...it's working for me. I wish it was for you too! Are you drinking all the water you need? Do you think there might be something that's causing a stall, like caffeine? Cheese?

                            Do you use something like Fitday and has your mentor reviewed your menu? I ask because Atkins is really a high fat/moderate protein/low carb way of eating - not high protein. Excess protein is converted into glucose if I am not mistaken.

                            Maybe you could post your specific menus in the Review Menu forum?

                              Well, Scooter rarely visits the board on the week-ends (such a rock star!) But, heck, I thought he would at least pop in today - he never misses a week day. And, he has posted in other forums today.

                                I've cut down on the cheese, but basically I'm starting to think I'm just eating too many calories.

                                I'm going to lower the total calories a bit and see if that helps.
