      Re: Saturday-Roll Call

Hey, Everyone. I am with those of you that are up a little this week. I weigh everyday -- I know, bad Ann. Anyway, yesterday I was up 0.8 pounds and today I was up an additional 0.4 pounds. So, up 1.2 pounds from my lowest this week. Pretty discouraging, but I am hoping that by tomorrow, my official weigh in day, I will be back down a little. We'll see. My boyfriend's mom is here all day, so I won't have time to get exercise in. I will just have to focus on good food today...

Happy Saturday everyone! I just finished working out. I looked at the scale on Thursday-2 weeks after Induction and was a bit frustrated that I hadn't lost more than 6lbs. I'm 5'9 and my starting weight was 210( I think). Anyway, my husband told me that I was losing inches and gaining muscles. I lift heavy 3 times a week and cycle 3 times a week. For my husband to notice made all the difference in the world! And I'll have to leave the scales alone for a bit!

Ooh I love that flaxmeal pizza crust!

And I made cole slaw today too...well not cole slaw, it's broccoli slaw. I buy the prepackaged broccoli slivers and make it with 1/4c. mayo, 1 tsp apple cider vinegar, and 1-2 packets of splenda. It's SOOOOOOOOO much better than stuff made with cabbage! I could eat it everyday.

The recipe for the flaxseed pizza crust is on Linda's site. Here is the link: http://genaw.com/lowcarb/most_awesome_pizza_crust.html It was very good!

Julie - that recipe sounds great. I love broccoli. I think I'll try some!

Ashley's Mom - my husband actually noticed the other day, too! That's a bonus, as far as I'm concerned!

Thanks for the link Cheri, I have never looked at the breads section on her site! I need to do some more reading over there I see!

YAY me I resisted pizza tonight! My oldest daughter has her friend over and since kids are so hard to please, we always order pizza when they are with friends. I was starving when it got here (been busy allllll day) and all I had to do was remember how sick it made me last time and that I weigh in tomorrow and that did it. Had my homemade chili with cheese and sour cream!

I bought some diet Fanta and YICK that stuff is gross! I love orange soda and thought it would be nice to have something fizzy after 6 weeks without but it has a strange chemical undertone to it. One sip and I poured the whole 2 liter out. I'll stick to my water and lemonade for now.

Good for you, skinnymom, for sticking to the chili. How do you make your chili? I've been wanting some and was wondering about the recipe.

                  Re: Saturday-Roll Call

I actually use a premade packet - it's called Two Alarm Chili - check your grocery store for it. Inside are several premeasured packets of stuff like oregano, red pepper, chili pepper, onion, salt etc - the only packet that I do NOT use is the one labeled "masa" which is flour, I toss that. My mom used this packet when I was a kid and we've never put the masa in so I'm used to it without. All the other spices are safe. You just brown 2 lbs of ground beef, drain, then add the spices (using the red pepper to taste, I put about 3/4 of the packet in and it is HOT!) and 1 8 oz can tomato sauce and 2 cans water - simmer for 30 minutes and that's it!

I get the ziploc 1 cup tupperware things and divide it all up so I have premeasured serving sizes. I won't lie and say I don't miss my cornbread and butter on the side, but with cheese and sour cream on top it is a VERY filling meal. Good with a salad or celery on the side too!

I forgot to pick up pizza sauce. I was going to use spaghetti sauce, but the kind we had had sugar, so I used olive oil instead. Mil and I split one - they're not very big - about the size of a personal pan at Pizza Hut. But we ate it with cole slaw (legal!) and it was filling - all that fiber, I guess. But I will definitely be making more.
