Good morning! I guess this is an early bird board! I've never seen so many listed as viewing the forums as this morning! I'm happy to have found some answers, but it makes for a very INCONVENIENT food setting. Eggs, meat and veggies can be very limiting. I miss cheese..... Leaving for vacation tonight-- I'm more excited than the kids. I can't wait to see DC and all of the sights! I'm hoping for an amazing scale-less week and a great reward for when I do finally weigh in next week! Good luck to everyone this week!

CONGRATS to Sandy on hitting the -25 !!! Woo hoo!

Good Morning.. There are so many cool things to see in D.C...How long are you going to be there? I have been thinking cheese might be the reason I am slow losing too but man I am not ready to give it up yet...lol

Oh Sandy--do the spit test! I've only done 3 days of no dairy/no smoked meats and I lost 6 pounds!! After THIRTY days of eating leagally and virtually NO losses!! I added probiotics and cut all that out.

We're actually going to be staying in Williamsburg and we're going for a week. I'm planning 2 days in DC. I'm an avid photographer, so I KNOW I will be in heaven! We'll go to Virginia Beach, Colonial Williamsburg and Jamestown. We have a timeshare, so we travel 2 weeks every year and have a big list of everywhere we want to experience! It's helped us do a lot.

What kind of cheeses are you guys talking about? Julie discovered something about the (conveniently) shredded cheeses. They contain potato starch. I had to switch and start grating my own cheese. And not take in more than 2 oz. a day...IIRC, which I may not...

Terry~ it's ANY cheese. They all can have mold and that helps the yeast along. I never heard that about the shredded cheese though. I mainly used that because of convenience. Interesting!

Hey Jess! It's in that thread that I linked. First thing in the a.m. spit into a glass of water. If your spit grows legs and tentacles that go down to the bottom, or if it sinks and you see little particles in the water--that is an indicator of yeast overgrowth. Google it and you will see a list of about 25 symptoms this can cause. It also can affect weight loss. After 30 patient days and an all of a sudden 6 lbs. off---I'm a believer!

Good morning everyone! I haven't done the spit test (ick factor) but I've read about it. I was taking oil of oregano for awhile, but I can't even remember to take my vitamin. Oh yeah, vitamin!! BRB (Be Right Back) There! Vitamin taken!

Have a great day and a great weekend everyone!

                          Re: Friday Roll Call

                          Morning all!

I did my measurements today, and I'm down .5 inches in my chest, waist, and abdomen for a total of 1.5 inches lost. Tomorrow I weigh in, hoping for a good number! But I'm incredibly happy about those inches...I want my waist to keep shrinking and shrinking...

As for the cheese, I gave up shredded cheese. My body can't handle potatoes, so I thought it wise to give up potato starch, too. I had a rough couple days emotionally which was interesting. I don't know if it was unrelated, or if it was some sort of wierd detox from the preservatives and additives that I gave up? Either way, I lost 2 pounds last week, which was amazing. Usually I'd only been losing one or staying the same. So now I just cut slices from those huge blocks that we buy (we buy Tillamook cheese in 2 pound blocks) and cut them into small chunks, rather than shredding. It takes a minute longer, and it's worth it for me.

Never say never. Don't say "this doesn't stall me" because it might very well be stalling you, but your body can still compensate. Always be on the lookout!

Today we will be busy, getting reading for the weekend. Geoff and I are going to Big Sky, for the MAB conference and awards. Geoff is up for an award, I hope he wins!!!

                          Have a great day, STACers!

Good morning, everyone. I've actually thought that I may have candida overgrowth, as it goes hand in hand with gluten allergies, but I got out of the habit of taking probiotics every day. I need to start again. I'm usually very good about taking them when I've taken antibiotics. Will try the test this morning. (Just got up, so still good.)

Busy day today. Nanny's going to the doctor. Have to take the kittens to the no-kill shelter. (We've raised some kittens because their mother's milk dried up. We have lots of strays around our house. But we can't afford to keep them all. We already have three!) Have to go shopping for a birthday party tomorrow. Have to look for an outdoor rug for our screened-in porch. Have to go grocery shopping. Lots to do-da day (for those of you that remember Rolie Polie Olie on Disney).

Started Slim in 6 on Wednesday and can definitely feel the effects! Hopefully, inches are coming off!

Sandy - great job on going to aerobics!

Pretty - hope you have a great time in Williamsburg and DC. I live in VA, too. Lots of history and beautiful spaces!

Terry - how are you feeling?

Julie - Have a great time and good luck!

Sheepie and Jess and everyone else - Happy Friday!
