good morning everyone! my sister has been in town for the past few days and we had a good time together. i found it easy to stick with this woe while she was here. i am thinking this morning about change...the changes this woe brings with it are both positive and very scary for me. i wonder what my relationships with people will look like and be like as i undergo this lifestyle refinement...as my priorities shift, as my goals change, as i become more healthy...i am worth every moment of the time it takes to learn this woe and make it a part of me...i refuse to feel guilty for nurturing my self...it is all about the process...enjoying and embracing the journey!

Re: Tuesday morning roll call
Hi Jen. Love your post this mornign. It is all about the process and I'm enjoying and embracing the journey too! Every day brings something new but the constant is this journey is how WELL I feel everyday. That I love.
I too have my sister staying for a few days. We're off out tonight for dinner and cocktails with a gang of my friends. But I'll stay 'legal' I know I can do that with ease.

Good morning STACers
Great post, Jen!
Ya know, I feel special when I take care of myself. Yesterday, there was a big cake in the break room. Cake is a huge weakness for me, especially the frosting. Well, they offered me a piece several times and I just said, "no, thanks. I don't do sugar."
I really started thinking about the cake and I still wanted it, but, I know that it would just start a cycle of mental anguish that I just don't want to deal with.
I ended up going home and later I fixed some cream cheese, splenda vanilla thing that tasted like frosting.
I look back and I remember saying, I feel special because I don't want to eat the cake and I have the choice to say "no!"
So, happy day everybody,
Special Buffy

Re: Tuesday morning roll call
I love this vibe going on about BEING WORTH IT. You know what we are doing is NOT SELFISH IT'S SMART! We are taking control over bad eating habits and controlling food choices....We are overcoming addictions, and trying to find away out of these defeating places into healthy living...NO APOLOGIES NEEDED!
I am surrounded by people who cheer me on, and most don't hold me back...
I tell people in a kind way what I will and will not do. I am not trying to please them, I'm trying to stay on a plan that works for me. I've endured flack over not indulging, but after a little while those people have seen my progress.
I've made new friends, active friends. I've hung out with old friends and their food issues, just being quiet, bless their hearts, it's their problem, and i know how stuck you can be!
THIS IS NOT A SELFISH LIFEESTYLE IT'S A SMART LIFESTYLE! Standing up for me, and my need to be healthy is a priority and it should be your priority too. We've gone too far when we act arrogant, or proud in the wrong ways, but we should have to make NO APOLOGIES, in the highly-aware-of-health-issues media culture we live in...We are doing RIGHT by ourselves...74 8/1/06

Re: Tuesday morning roll call
Good morning everyone,
I have been "no cheat" for 29 days and I'm down 12 pounds since induction. Still wear 14's but the i can now get into my 12's and they are not as tight, so I can see a change.
I am still trying to kill yeast. does anyone know how long it takes to kill the yeast?
Went to eat mex. last night and i suffered as my family ate tortilla chips in front of me...i had a salad with meat, no dressing, just a drop of salsa, that was a bad experience, too many temptations.
Buffy, congrats on passing the cake up, that's a tuffy for me, i have 3 kids birthday's coming up in one week and i know that going to be hard.
Scooter, is caffiene that bad for you? I have one cup of coffee in the morning, but that's it?

Re: Tuesday morning roll call
BlazingFL, that 1 cup of coffee turns into an addiction for me. I start with one cup, then 2, then it's a sugar free energy drink, then it's 5 of them.
For me, it's an addiction. The buzz, the energy. I just need to stick with ketosis. It's just a personal choice, that's all.
Before Atkins, I used to drink, liters, and cans of diet coke, tons of it, so....even then it was an addiction.
Drinking water and need, no have to, add exercise. Have to, if I want to continue to eat the way I do, I have to add the exercise!
Thanks for asking!! Have a great day everybody!!

Re: Tuesday morning roll call
Greetings, Fellow Atkineers
Jen, what a great way to start the day. Thanks for beginning the roll call in such a positive tone.
Carmel, your confidence is showing. Nice!
Scooterman! Huge kudos to you for shaking off the caffiene habit. *Groan* on those 12 pounds, though. Well, you know the routine... get a clean induction under your belt and then it will be clean sailing.
Special Buffy - Yay you! Good job on passing up the cake. It is a huge breakthrough when you realize that every single thing you put into your mouth is a choice, and food no longer controls you.
Sandy... remember this: Nobody can go back and make a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending. The ball is in your court, friend. Instead of being bummed about your kids being gone this week, look at the bright side. You have a golden opportunity for undivided Sandy time. Sieze the moment!
Speedy - Turtle power!
Jess - yep, we need to learn to take a stand. No apologies!
Michelle - Don't know much about yeast, but there is a forum here devoted to it. Good job on the no cheat! About the Mexican... I love going Mexican. Sure, you have to watch everyone else eat those yummy chips at the beginning but I am getting to where I don't care about that. And fajitas without the tortilla wraps are soooo good. I get the steak, chicken and shrimp combo - really good. And yes, caffiene is bad. Have you gotten the book yet?
Let's all go out there and have a great, legal day.

Re: Tuesday morning roll call
Good morning, everyone! My friend Rachel missed her plane last night because her cab to the airport was an hour late. So small delay on having my BFF here. I probably won't be able to get online while she's here.
I hadn't been on the scale in a few days, so I hopped on today and was exactly the same as last time I measured... 174.6. No complaints from me. I did splurge with a Wendy's double burger yesterday (no bun, duh), and suppose the Franken-cheese and extra Diet Coke did me in.
Still drinking 1 cup of coffee, 2L H2O, and 1 20 oz. diet soda a day. I would like to cut out the diet soda and replace it with water! That's my goal for this week, since I had a cheat free week one and lost 5.4 pounds. Goal is 170 by August 5!
Hope everyone has a good day!

Back in the real world today, and back to work. It was a nice 3-day getaway, and I loved every minute of it! Re: Tuesday morning roll call
Has anyone tried DDR (dance dance revolution) as a form of exercize? I started doing that and I'm addicted....i hate to exercize, but I just love this, can't wait to get on it everynight. i dreaded the treadmill and the bike....never thought i'd actually like to exercize. It also really get the heart rate going and it's a challenge.
